If you are really a true Nintendo Maniac, you probably anticipating one thing: The Nintendo Revolution. I am already researching anything I can every day about it, and I've learned lots. (That is, assuming that most of the stuff I find online is true.) But, if you want to know more here's a site with stuff from the e3 expo. I was literally drooling as I read the facts. I couldn't find the site that I found earlier, but there's a bunch of cool titles already official, including a new Mario game (big surprise!) a new SSB, a new Metroid, and some kind of Pirates of the Caribbean game.

Post what you think!!

Yeah, man. The revolution's gonna be awesome. I'm hoping for an online Mario Party.

i know i'm gonna be killed here, but i think Nintendo is really going straight down the crapper. mario is getting old, fast. And they either have to:
1. get there act together and make a new Gameboy
or
2. make the nintendo revolution better than the gamecube.

Yeah, that'd be awesome! I'll be glad when I don't have to bug my sister to play SSB Melee with me. I can just hook up with somebody in Canada with the outta the box wifi!!

..Aaaand the Revolution will be better than gamecube, and they just made the DS.

1. They are making a new Gameboy, the Game Boy Micro.

2. The Revolution will be much better. It will have free online play, NES through N64 games for download, and a "revolutionary" new controller that we know nothing about.

WHAT?! Game Boy micro?! I just spent $150 on a DS!! Stupid, friggin Nintendo maniacs hafta go... (trails off, mumbling angrily)

Oh, and though it doesnt say so on that page i posted, I read an interview with the nintendo prez, and he said the controllers will be wireless and will be 'simple'.

Weird!

Oh boy, words can not even express how much I love Nintendo, ever since I opened up my N64 with Mario 64 for Easter in 1997. Ever since then, the Nintendo injection has gotten me.

The Nintendo Revolution will be better than the Gamecube. Since I have wireless internet, I'm going to be playing Super Smash Bros Revolution online all the time. I also like how it's going to be cheaper to manufacture for. Heck, even downloading old games will make me happy with the Revolution.

I spend most of my time looking over message boards for news on the Revolution. I will sometimes, though, look on Google for Revolution news(but very rarely). Yes, call me a Nintendo fanboy, because I am!

So no matter what the controller looks like, no matter how much the old games cost, no matter what position the Revolution is at in the console races, and no matter what happens to the rest of Nintendo's fans, I will buy the Revolution.

Oh yeah, Super Mario Brothers is 20 years and 1 day old today.

EDIT- Yes, the controller is supposed to be simplistic, with less buttons than the Gamecube, but will be able to play just about any game on other next generation systems(Meaning that there will be another way to control the game, with less buttons. Gyroscopes, maybe?)

that micro isn't a new gameby though...its just the old one smaller. they've done that 3 times now.

I'm looking forward to the Revolution. I think it will be a system with a broader appeal with the DVD player and the old-school game downloading options.

The Game Boy Micro and the DS are not the next-gen Game Boy. The Micro is just a GBA in a smaller package, and the DS was an entirely new breed of handheld.

I plan on getting a Revolution and a PS3. Once the prices have dropped about $150, that is. ;)

You know. I'm still not sure which console I'm getting. Although seeing all those specs. make me wanna get the Revolution a whole lot more. And, I'll probably get one, after a generation with the Xbox, AKA heavy black box.

1. Emulators and ROMs are illegal and are not of the same quality as their console counterparts(slower framerate is a good example).
2. Revolution is not just about downloading old games, it is about bringing new experiences to gameplay along with tiny 3rd Party developers who get barely any air time.
3. I do respect your opinion so do not flame me for that.

I have gamecube.. I'll probably get a PS3 at some point.. I'm more of an RPG person, and PS seems to have way way more RPGs.. I really like action RPGs the best though, like Zelda and Sphinx&The Mummy--

Also, they will not be exactly like the old games. They will have the same gameplay, but they will supposedly have better graphics.

I hope they have two options for the downloads, Classic and Updated. The classics can be cheaper and the updated can cost about twice as much.

Oh yeah, does anyone know the link to that one site that had the mock-up of the Revolution home screen? I used to have it bookmarked but it mustof gotten deleted. It had like, the color options (like polara smooth) and a mock-up of the download screen with a Super Mario World boxart thing. That guy had good photoshop skills.

I'm thinking you will probably just download one game but you can choose which type of graphics you want to use.

HE?

I'm sorry, but there is NO way that Jigglypuff is a dude. Come on. A pink fuzzball named Jiggly-freaking-puff?

Use your head, man. ;)

And I can PWN you all with Dr. Mario. Bring it on.

Dr. Mario is my 2nd best; Link is my first. Technically, in the shows, all of the pokemon were "its." I just sort of forgot.

Yeah, Jigglypuff owns. When you go around the Super Smash Bros. boards on IGN all day, you know that no character is bad in Super Smash Bros Melee. So many n00bs on that board are like, "PICHU SUKZ!" or "FOX IS TEH BEST" when they're not. All characters are balanced out.

In other news, though, what do you think the controller will be like? I saw a mock-up once that was simplistic and has less buttons than the Gamecube. When NES games were playing, two of the six buttons would light up red making it look like an NES controller. The same with the SNES and N64. It was pretty cool. If anyone can find that one, please show me it. I can't find it.

Post subject:  hmmm...

I could've sworn there was a thread about this already called "Nintendo- a revolution at its best" or something like that. I'll see if I can find it.

I'm looking forward to the revolution. Maybe that's what I'll spend my tons of money on. Though it really helps to have a dad who plays video games and wants to buy it and is willing to help pay for it.

I like the idea of a free online network. Would it be possible for games like Super Smash brothers for people to make a private "room" where all of us HR wiki people could face each other? I'm not really sure how online gaming works.

I have a question about the downloading games thing. Would it be possible for someone to make a patch for a gamecube game that allowed you to go online and put it up for download? Would it be possible if you learned how to make a simple game, to put it up for download over the internet?

Backwards compatibility is a good feature. I don't know what'll happen to my gamecube when I get a revolution. I might keep it around for sentimental and experimental purposes.

I do like using Pichu on occasion, though. His down-B attack is devastating, even though he loses a little health in the process...

I think the Revolution comes with a built in 512 Megabyte flashcard. I think that's the maximum amount it can support. Gamecube games go into Gigabytes, making that impossible.

I also doubt we will be able to make our own games and stick them up for download.

hmm... I wonder if the old games will alow you to play online also... I bet they will let you. It whouldn't be that hard. Gamecube could be, but the downloadable games might be easier. And, if nentendo wants to make more cash, they could make controlers that are the same as the NES/SNES/N64 controlers. Purests would love to get them. So, what games are you looking forward to getting?

Author:  DS_Kid [ Mon Aug 22, 2005 10:15 pm ]

They have barely released any info on games so...Super Smash Bros Revolution?

Oh, and I do hope that they make certain old games online. Maybe games like Mario Kart, Mario Party, Goldeneye 007(with improved framerate), and Bomberman.
