Do you absolutely love some affiliate of the Disney company in any form or fashion? Or do you hate them? Then come in here and rant at how you adore/depsise Disney! This is a wide open discussino area for anything Disney - complaints or compliments.

I like Pixar. They've been about the only thing really good to come out of Disney in the last ten years or so. Except maybe The Lion King.

Oh, and that company working on The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe, believe it or not, is a Disney affiliate. And that looks pretty cool. But Disney themselves have not terribly impressed me much lately.

Well, the only CURRENT thing I like about Disney is the parks, exclusing Pixar, since they're leaving Disney soon. But i like to think of myself as an unofficial historian for Walt Disney, the man originally behind the company, and I must say I admired him and the work he put out since his genration.

The animated movies have been declining in quality since the Lion King. They had four good movies in a row (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and the Lion King) and then they just- stopped making quality stuff. Then, they stopped making musicals, and things have gottne worse and worse.

I don't get Disney's business strategies. They have rides themed over early 90's hits and they know how well that stuff sells and how good it was, as implied by the marketing and rides released in their parks. So why don't they revert back to those ways? I'm not complaining about their switch to cG, but I am complaining about their switch to crappy entertainment.

The only good non-Pixar production I can remember them doing in recent years is The Emperor's New Groove.

Agreed.

I'm so glad Pixar is breaking off from Disney. Let's just hope Cars is better than I'm expecting it to be.

Actually, I heard that they renewed their contract with disney again.

Yeah, none of the new Disney movies have that old "Walt" touch, like the old ones. I heard also that Disney is only going to make CG movies from now on. "Brother Bear" (another stupid movie) was there last traditionaly animated movie.

Actually, the last one was Home on the Range, which was stupid. i liked Brother Bear, but by no means was it a really good movie, so meh.

I don't mind the switch to CG so much - Walt always favored progress, and I'm sure he would've made the switch much sooner had he been alive - He probably would've developed CG!

But, in my opinion, if they're doing it for efficiency (it takes less time, money, etc.), they could've used Flash, which would still sbe 2-D, but just as efficient, just to stop people for jumping all over them for that decision.

I think Disney movies used to be really good around the early 90's. But now they suck. Atlantis was the first Disney movie to suck. The Pixar ones are still good, though.

Yes, Atlantis sucks. And so does every direct-to-video-sequel they make.I'm really looking forward to Cars. They remind me of this old toyset I used to play with...even the voices sound similar.

(Crap, I can actually type without making 5 typos!)

I hate those direct-to-video sequels. They always have crappy aniamtion and poor imitations of the original voices. They're like cop-outs to an actual product. And they always, aLWAYS carbon-copy the storyline from the original.

do you know what disney really needs? a R-Rated fast pace action murder movie. not anymore of rated G, PG, PG-13, or any of that, we need some blood from disney, that would appeal to kids today, just like Grand theft auto.

Don't you talk to me.

The very IDEA of Disney releasing a movie like that gives me the mega-jibblies. Actually more of the mega-angries.

That reminds me of some of disneys other sttemts to be 'cool' and 'up to date'. I was walking alone in the city where I was shopping and when I walked past a Disney Shop and at the very front of the shop was a school bag with 'Mickey Skater' written on it. It made me sick. Anyone who skates is probably to old for Mickey and anyone who is young enough to like mickey is probably to young to skate properly.

Remember The Lion King? Aladin?

Get off your videogame buttocks and go watch some classics, man.

:)

but then he wrote:

Then what you're saying is that there is, in fact, at least one good movie from Disney, arguing with what you originaly said, hmm?

;)

What's this dissing Pixar all about? What, is you just plain crazy? The Incredibles was an Excellent movie! As were both Toy Story movies. So don't make me unleash my horde of Laser Headed Sharks upon you!

The only "classic" Disney movies I like are Fantasia, Mary Poppins & The Jungle Book. All the rest are meh. Pixar, on the other hand, rocks the socks.

Have you ever noticed that every 2-D Disney animated feature is a musical? That always weirded me out. "It's like Broadway, for kids!"

You guys are both immature losers who can not except that good, moral (and yes, ocassionally childish on the surface) films can be good ones too. Walt disney set the standards, and Disney is being msart by staying with them. I admit, some of their attempts to be "hip" and "cool" are cringe-worthy. They really need to stop being things they're not. As Disney himself said:

"We don't make our films for children or adults. We make them for the small, untanrished piece inside of us all that still believes in magic."

Not an exact quote or even close, but I think that really sums it up quite nicely.

Whoa, I never knew I was so into Disney - guess the thought of R-rated Disney riled me up.

I think Disney does some pretty good stuff - I particularly LOVE Pixar. I disagree with you, Choco, about Disney doing anything R-rated. Also, did you ever see "Kids"? That was a VERY non-Disney movie, made by Disney (I DON'T recommend it, BTW).

Disney owns Touchstone and Miramax, so they do release R-rated material.

I am a huge Aladdin fan. I like it because it has my favorite Disney character in it: The Genie.

I used to love Disney. I loved the Lion King, I loved Aladin, I loved the Emperors New Groove, but I don't like the way they're going now. When I was younger, I enjoyed Toy Story and all the other CG-like Disney movies. But now, they seem to all have the same thing, a part in the movie where the main character looks to the ground and is all depressed. For some reason, it doesn't feel right. I also don't like the "booger" jokes in the old CG "G" rated movies. They just don't seem disney like. The last Disney movie I have liked was "The Incredibles". That's the last I've heard of Disney.

Since I went to Rec-Pac each year during the summer, all we could watch was basically Disney movies. Don't get me wrong, they're fine. But, after watching Aladin for the 50th time it gets REALLY repetitive. Maybe that's the reason why I don't like Disney a lot of the time, watching movies 50 times in a row.

EDIT- Sorry if this post raises a few eyebrows or has bad grammar. I am tired.

Although I really still like the "older" disney movies (Aladdin, Lion King).

Kids? Are you talking about the one with the kid named Casper? And some other characters whose names I forget? The one we all used to watch over and over when we were 16? Made by Disney?
