Actually, the last one was Home on the Range, which was stupid. i liked Brother Bear, but by no means was it a really good movie, so meh.

I don't mind the switch to CG so much - Walt always favored progress, and I'm sure he would've made the switch much sooner had he been alive - He probably would've developed CG!

But, in my opinion, if they're doing it for efficiency (it takes less time, money, etc.), they could've used Flash, which would still sbe 2-D, but just as efficient, just to stop people for jumping all over them for that decision.

Buh. No more traditional animation, ever? Man, I like 2D better than 3D for the most part. All the CGI movies end up looking pretty much the same in terms of visuals IMO. And that's the movie they go out on? Oh well. *watches Emperor's New Groove again*

I agree that Toy Story 1 was a little childish, but it freaked me out! That one bald doll on spider legs still gives me nightmares. *gets the jibblies*

Yeah that one doll with the, like, sockets where it's hair was missing. Freak out.

The reason you younguns think TS is childish is because you're too young to appreciate the existential overtones of those movies. These movies aren't just about toys trying to find their way back to their owner. They're about the existential questions that all human beings have. Questions like, Why am I here? Who am I, really? How long have I got? Questions of identity, purpose, meaning, and even mortality. Good grief, man! I could easily compare these movies to another great philosophical classic involving sentient toys, Bladerunner. (I mean, couldn't you imagine Harrison Ford doing battle with a life-sized version of Woody?)

Soren Kierkegaard has now left the building.

BTW, MHG, did you ever tell us whether you dream electric sheep or not?
That's a joke based on the original title of Bladerunner, for those of you who don't get it.

Try to young. Again.

Disney has been going downhill greatly the past few years (aside from Pixar). I have high hopes for TLTWATW, though. That looks good.

I said it was sortof childish. I love the movie, it's just that the spider thing freaked me out. I say Toy Story is even better than "The Incredibles" by a hair. Infact, I think I still have my old Buzz Lightyear action figure. *looks for it*

Disney itself has been going downhill. It's the Disney affiliates like Pixar and Walden Media that have been making all the really good movies.

I agree with dudymus. You can't see the higher purpose of a movie like toy Story (and can't get some of its jokes) because of your age, and therfore it seems dumb and childish to you. People who dismiss Disney products as baby stuff. They are a BIG pet peeve of mine, second to only the people who think Harry Potter is demonic.

And disney has been going downhill. I'm hoping a new CEO may fix things, though with Pixar leaving (at least, I think they're leaving...) I'm not so sure.

Oh, Funkstar? Did you like The Incredibles because it had more action in it than most Pixar films? Just a guess...

I know, not that Pixar is leaving, Disney wont have much going for it. Especially because the rest of the Disney films (I hear) are going to be CG'd.

I hate Disney for being a bunch of sell outs who dish out too many unnecessary sequals and for buying stuff out then burying the skeletons in the closet, but at the same time, I love a lot of their movies. My favorites are Aladdin, The Lion King, The Emperor's New Groove, Lilo & Stitch, and pretty much anything that involves Pixar in some way. (Especially Finding Nemo.) Yes, Disney movies do indeed rule.

More violence. I liked it because it had more violence.

A. Yes, they do. I like them too. However...

b. touchstone isn't really what i'm trying to inspire talk about here. I'm sure, if walt were alive today, he would not want his company to be remebered by the more adult-type movies. disney is all about taking leaps of faith and connecting with your inner-child, not about stripping mermaids.

Bumpedybump.

I am indeed a Disney fan. Veravera much so. I'm more of a fan of the Walt-era Disney than the current Disney. After Walt died in '66, the films just seemed to lose their magical feeling and warmth.

Hopefully now that they have Rob Iger, things wiull start to move forward. Jobs has already taken a liking to Iger, and a new contract may take place between Pixar and Disney. As for Traditional Animation, we'll just have to wait and see.

I love Disney. All of it. Except some of the newer ones they're not that good. Lilo & Stitch was good, and so was The Emporer's New Groove. The rest of the new stuff is BAD. All of the Pixar is amazing. The stuff that goes strait to DVD just proves that Disney is just a bunch money-hungry ripoff artists. :)

But seriously, the best thing that came from Disney, KINGDOM HEARTS!

I'm a Disney guy. My brother and I have a lot of Disney movies, and we are pretty frequent watchers of them.
Plus, free admission to Disneyland helps boost the love. :p
