hey, anyone like Manson? or am i the only one? my favorites of his stuff is personal jesus, sweet dreams, and the Cover for Highway To Hell. what about you guys?

I'm not big on him. It's just a personal preference. I put him in the same category as people like Eminem; people who say shocking things, and claim to feel certain ways about things purely for shock value (which drives their sales). In no way does my opinion of them reflect my opinion about their respective genres, though.
Why Trent Reznor would associate himself with someone like Marilyn Manson, I'll never know.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

He's got some pretty good stuff (Antichrist Superstar is particularly a fun album) though I wouldn't call myself a fan necessarily. In reading a few of his interviews, believe it or not, he actually seems like a fairly intelligent individual to me. Though his fans actually taking his act seriously instead of getting the whole 'be your own God - acting as messed up as me is supposed to be unappealing' message he's meaning to get across is another thing. :rolleyes:

You do know that both "Personal Jesus" and "Sweet Dreams" are covers too, right? (Depeche Mode and the Eurythmics, respectively.)

Anyhow, I used to be into them when I was, like, 15, when I thought I was a goth kid. But not anymore.

He also butchered "Another Brick in the Wall" and "Tainted Love."

The only Marilyn Manson song I like is "Beautiful People." The only thing I like about him is that he specializes in ticking off the Religious right, which is always fun.

Meh, Marylin isn't as good anymore. He used to be cool. He used to look cool. His band used to dress differently, which was cool.
