What's say, to make the topic a little more user friendly, you turn this into simply a discussion of SSBM? I'm pretty sure more would be inclined to reply. =D

Yeah, I kinda dislike threads like this, because it's pretty much useless. If they have a question and think it can be answered here, they'll post it themselves, but chances are there won't even be any question about SSBM on this forum. No offense, just try to keep threads like this to a minimum

The new game is gonna be awesome. What do you characters do you think would make cool smash bros players. I think majora's mask link would be cool, with human, deku scrub, goron, and zora forms.

That... would be way too complicated. How would the moveset be set up?

No kidding. I bought a game cube just for that game!!!

It's not to say I don't have other games, or anything, but most of those are games I could play on my PS2. SSBM made me want the game cube.

I just got a new one like on Friday. My house has a curse that breaks my SSBMs every year or less or so. We're gonna try to protect this one though. This is our fifth. Anyway, yeah, SSBM is frickin' cool, especially when you pretend it's a drama where there's a lot of killing and stuff, that makes it more fun. And we started anew on Sunday, yeah that's when I got it, not Friday, and we only need Mewtwo, M.G&W for characters, and also, for stages:

Past Kongo
Past Kirby
Final Destination
Battlefield
FlatZone.

Then don't let me get started on Trophies. I don't think I can name all the ones I don't have.

I only don't have one trophy. The Diskun trophy. Nobody can freaking get that.

Other than that, I've done everything, unlocked everything, and seen it all. I can't wait for the new one.

I hear that SSB for the Revolution will be a launch game. That would ROCK.

Other than that, don't know what else to say about it, really. I love Melee, but I stink at getting the trophies. I'm just glad I succeeded in unlocking everything else.

Man, you're right. And it's not that no one can get Diskun... it's that no one can get through 1P without taking any damage ("No Damage Clear")... and I don't have the Hard/Very Hard trophies, for the reason that I haven't... actually... tried for them yet. So I'm at about 284 trophies or so... other than that, I've got everything, including a nice 2k and then some Home Run record with Yoshi (it's not formidable, yes... if you're one who can use the Bat Drop trick. I am not), and about 9' 30'' for all my Target Tests. =D Combined, mind you.

I can't wait for SSB3. Might be a while until I actually get it, but still... I wouldn't mind seeing, say, Ridley in there. And of course, Samus has got to get new alternate suits, namely revamped Gravity (more like MP than SSBM), Dark Samus (c'mon, it's not a spoiler if you've played ANY, really, of the game which incorporates her), maybe the Fusion Suit and perhaps the other suits in Echoes, especially the latter of the two. Yes, I'm a Metroid fan...

Well, for new characters in SSBR, here is a list from the IGN Boards made by one of the smartest people on that forum.

Dillo64(IGN Boards) wrote:
Pit - An old favorite, the Kid Icarus was one of Nintendo's earliest popular game. He's the only guy everyone can agree on, and Miyamoto has hinted on plans to a sequel.

Captain Olimar - Reletively new character, but popular and would make for a very unique style of gameplay that focuses on summoning Pikmin. And size doesn't matter, all the characters in SSB are simply dolls/trophies brought to life. He'd be the same size as the others.

Isaac - Yes, Golden Sun is property of Nintendo, and Golden Sun has recieved much popularity from it's two games on the GBA, and a rumored third installment for Revolution. Isaac is the main character of the first game, and his moves would involve both sword play and psynergy.

Wario - The only Mario character I think should absolutly be added, for obvious reasons(two of his own mini-series).

Diddy Kong/Dixie Kong team - The Donkey Kong Country games need SOME acknowledgement for their gastronomical sales in the 90's. Diddy and Dixie as a team adds two characters for the price of one, and acknowledges the team-based styles of gameplay the DKC games had.

Skull Kid/Majora's Mask - Being more popular than Vaati, Skull Kid would make a great choice to round out the charcter list. Even though he's only appeared in one game, it was a popular one and he holds many complex traits that make him a worthwile choice for Zelda fans.

Ridley - The Metroid series is grossly under-represented, though probably due to the lack of possible characters. Ridley however is a good choice, the only reoccuring single character throughout the series to appear in a majority of the games. As long as he is smaller and his flight is limitted, he's be a kickbutt speed/power character.

King Dedede - The semi-villian from Kirby, an under-represented franchise thats made by the same company that makes SSB in the first place. Kirby needs more recognition, King Dedede would make a good heavyweight.

Meta Knight - Kirby's rival and re-occurring villian of mystery throughout the series, and easily the coolest and most popular Kirby character aside from Kirby himself. Also created by Hal, he deserves to be there.

Deoxys - When choosing a Pokemon character there are many things to consider:Their popularity, which Gen their from, their media exploits, their compatibility with the gameplay, and how much they will apeal to the non-Pokemon fans. Deoxys is one of few Pokemon that has positive traits in all thes categories, being popular, represent the 3rd(and unrepresented) generation, being exploited in the media and getting his own Pokemon movie, possessing more than enough unique combat styles, and being totally bad(as opposed to "teh kiddie"). He is all-around a good choice, and would be able to switch between his 3 forms and alter his moveset.

Krystal - Out of the remaining Star Fox characters, Krystal has the most to offer, being most popular among the Star Fox fans(behind Fox & Falco of course) and her staff providing a fighting style different from the rest of the Star Fox characters. A more contributing character than, say, Wolf, who is just Fox on steroids.

Samurai Goroh - The arch rival of Captain Falcon, and one of the 4 original F-Zero racers. Fills out the F-Zero reps, and could also be used to take Ganondorf's current moveset so he can have his own moves, blah blah blah, you know the deal.

Ayra - A female sword fighter from Fire Emblem 4, and argueably the best/most popular FE character ever. She would add to the otherwise slim female line-up of characters, and work like a cross between Shiek and Marth.

Poo - Another rep from the Earthbound series, he would fight similiar to Ness, but with more focus and advancement on physical kung fu attacks than psychic. Ness is deserving of a variation, and I believe Poo has more potential to offer than Paula or Jeff, and is a fan favorite.

Captain N - The "totally unexpected who the heck is that character that you unlock last" character. There are probably other choices, but this is my personal preference, and I won't be surprised if he's not in the game. From the classic 80's Nintendo-promoting cartoon and comic series, he was never actually in a Nintendo video game before, but still makes the representation of the hardcore Nintendo fan. His redesign could accentuate to a greater extent if made into a character.

Yeah, there should only be 15 new characters in Super Smash Bros Revolution so Nintendo doesn't flood the sequel with 50 bazillion characters. I agree with his list 100% as well(even though I haven't played Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, or Kid Icarus). Oh yeah, and for the people who say Sonic and Viewtiful Joe should be in it, it is a game for Nintendo All-Stars(as shown in the opening of Melee). Please no Sonic in a Nintendo-only game, Nintendo.

Note: I had to edit the quote a little. If there is still any profanity in it, please PM me so I can edit it.

EDIT- Oh, and can someone tell me how to "Lag Cancel" and "Wavedash", please?

Sonic definitely isn't going to be in it. I don't think Wario will be either because they already have 2 Mario clones. And I don't think we need any more Pokemon.

Well, some pokemon needs to represent the new series(or whatever). We already have Red/Blue and Gold/Silver pokemon, now we need a Ruby/Saphire/Emerald one. Also, Wario would'nt have to be a clone. He could use bomb-ombs and his overall mass as attacks.

Couldn't you just use your old memory card data? Or was that somehow erased too?

Regarding the person who you quoted: yeah, I knew Dillo while I was on there, and yeah, I'd say you got it right about him.

Anyway, the Lag Cancel, or simply L-Cancel, is executed by tapping L or R if hitting the ground during an aerial attack. Timed well, it dramatically reduces the time between your hitting the ground and your regaining control. I recommend practicing it with Link's Sword Plant (aerial Down+A), it's apparent there. Valuable in a close melee for evading opponents after delivering an aerial hit.

Wavedashing... k, first, tap X or Y lightly to do a half jump. Now, do it again, jumping up and to one side. Now, do it again, and use L or R in midair to do your aerial dodge. Next time, instead of hanging there, immediately tap the control stick diagonally towards the ground in the same direction in which you jumped. After you've got this down, keep speeding it up until you cannot see the jump animation and there is no shield at the end. You know you've done a Wavedash when you appear to simply slide quickly a short distance with a bit of dust rising at the end(s?). Effective for grabbing an opponent, and for faster motion for certain characters. Remember, the timing varies between characters, bear that in mind.

I believe it's Tavo who's got a guide as part of one of the stickies. Head back there and look for it at the top-Tal will have posted it, but Tavo's got a guide in there. He describes the moves in more detail, and you may be able to find videos featuring these moves.

Another way to do the wave dash that's easier but not as useful is to press L or R right when you land.

Yeah, It would be hard to use and hard to design, but you got to admit, it would be pretty cool.

Very nice list, a lot of my desired characters are on there. I'd like to see Dark Samus as a playable character, not just a cotume variation. Anyone who's fought her knows she is not just a Samus clone. They'd have to tone down her insane power level of course.

I did it a while ago... with Luigi, of course. I didn't get nothing for my efforts! Bah.

I love the game. First game I got for the GCN, about 3 years back, and its still my favorite. The main character has like, 3000+ KOs to his name. The stats on our memory card are crazy.

I'm gonna get the Revolution when it comes out just for this game.

Ok...You know the Action Replay is the best when it comes to SSBM because theres this Debug Master Menu that gives you near freedom of the VS mode EG: Giga Bowser, The hands the Wire frames & Sandbag and it gives you 2 new trophies: Mario & Yoshi And Samus Unmasked! of course there is seperate codes for that eg: one hit kills, Tamagon trophy, Invincibility, all bonuses (Diskun Trophy) unlock stuff etc. Action Replays are about $ 50.00 at Future shop (I don't know if they have any more).

oh man Joshua it is really the shiznit (lol :coachz: ) playing as the hands is pretty easy, you just use the P3 & P4 controller ports P3 for master hand, P4 for Crazy hand. just use the d-pad with the b,a,l,r,& z buttons to use their attacks but you can only use crazy hand when master hand is in the fray on your team

We still don't know what the Revo controller looks like.

The Super Smash Bros. series is great. I can't wait for the Revo one. It should be the best of all.

Whew, yeah... recalling the cutscene before the Aerie fight, and the cutscene in the Sanctuary Entrance... wow. That would be sweet, but they wouldn't give it to us. Still... it's pretty awesome to imagine. And even with the power level toned down, the moves that she does have are pretty awe-inspiring/fear-in-the-heart-striking/etcetera. I'd love to see Dark Samus' Phazon stream implemented, albeit on a vertical path. The shield would be nice, as well.

Okay, so not no one. No one who lacks either skill or luck. I've got the skill to do it, but every time I try, I just suffer that single hit... every single time! Someday, perhaps.

Want to know what I missed from SSB64? The little character entrances at the beginning of battles. I hope those are back in SSBR. I really do.

YES. I would love to see Wario in the next game.

He could do like, ground pounds or something. And eat...stuff? Maybe they could have some of the Wario Ware characters...like Anna and Kat or like, Nine Volt...

Perhaps Waluigi too...

And can someone please tell me how to do that multiple slashy thing with Link? I can never get it to work :(

Yes, actually, I was just playing the 64 version for some nostalgia. 99% of the time I was thinking, this is so much better in melee. But there were those little things, like the personalized intros and Board the Platforms, that I missed.
