Who hates Ronald McDonald? I think he's creepy cuz most of the TV spots he appears in he has this HUGE smile on and seems to be telling kids to "come with him"

Should be able to. But I can't find the original movie anymore. I think it was taken down.

It was basically a parady of McDonald's, about how McD's encourages children to develop extremely unhealthy eating habits.

That seems law-suit worthy..

Those grinding images are a little messed up.

And hamburgers growing on trees? The word "Ham" is right in it.

And yet Hamburgers are made from ground beef, not ham.

As for Ronald, he is kinda creepy. But that's just because clowns are naturally creepy.

Well, yeah, Ronald is a bit unnerving. But there are more disturbing McDonald's characters-namely, the discontinued character the Hammurderer.

From the Onion, greatest newspaper in the world:

The Onion wrote:
Bowing to outcry from consumers and parents groups, the McDonald's Corporation announced Monday that it is discontinuing its new advertising mascot, "The Hammurderer," a mischievous, homicidal imp who kills McDonaldland characters and takes their sandwiches.

If you are creeped out by a McDonald's character, choose him.

I'm only 10, I saw it, it was pretty funny.

Vintage McDoanlds characters always feel good when you find them. Lkke, I have satues of Big Mac and Mayor Mc Cheese at my local one. And then theres Grimaces Irish uncle, Uncle O' Grimace. He's awexome.

Heh. I'll dress up as him for Halloween some time.

The peopele that5 go to McDoanlds are fat because they eat 45 hamburgers, 52 fries, and for a ice cool drink they get 23 milkshakes. Ans thats a small snack.

Seriously, how the crap do they get away with all those law-suits?

Because the Judge knows that it's the people's fault for going and eating there. It's not like they're being forced to eat the Big Mac. Youcan go and open s foodchain that seels nothing but lard, the thing is though, you might not have that many customers...or maybe you will, who knows.

TOASTPAINT,

I know that the Onion is fake. I'm no fool. And Michael Moore is not the lying idiot you make him out to be. I wouldn't mind hearing why he's so wrong, although here is not the place.

Also, the Onion is genius. Don't insult them with meagre headlines like those. They're responsible for such humourous headlines as "Ashcroft Orders Staff to Chain Him Before Next Full Moon" and "Kim-Jong II Morphs Into Giant Robot".

That Penny Arcade comic, well, I'll just say it's got a pretty accurate line in there: "Ronald puts a happy face on all that." I mean, McDonald's would hardly appear as family-friendly without its beloved mascots, right?

As to the arguments over McDonald's responsiblity... people may choose to eat there, but McDonald's knows it's pretty much the most popular fastfood franchise in the world (somehow), and yet it continues to serve such unhealthy trash, when it knows it could spend a little bit more money to make a healthier product and still make money. But it doesn't, it's too greedy. People may choose to go there, but McDonald's doesn't help the situation. Legally, the people are wrong. Morally? McDonald's.

In closing, another Onion headline: McDonald's Losing Customers to Food

No, the Onion's entirely satirical. The Hammurderer never actually existed, except in the imagination of a few very odd people and the memory of those who read the product of their efforts.

Even though clowns freak me out, Ronald McDonald is an exception, and I am not just saying that because I used to work at McDonald's.

Little known fact about that case: The coffee was around 180 to 190 degrees farenheit (82-88 degrees celsius). That caused third-degree burns (in other words, killed nerve tissue and charred her skin) over six percent of that woman's skin. She remained in the hospital for eight days while she underwent skin grafting. Two years of treatment followed.

I'm pretty sure that when everyone thinks of this case, they imagine the coffee being only lukewarm, causing maybe a sunburn-type injury, and conclude that the woman is an idiot and the legal system is flawed, or that Americans are lawsuit happy.

Well, she DID spill the coffee on herself and therefore part of the blame rests on her, but come on guys, coffee served hot enough to cause third degree burns? Don't you think that's a BIT much? Heck, coffee I make at the house never gets that hot (I use cold skim milk to cool down the coffee to a drinkable temperature) ...
