I don't actually hate him.....mostly because I don't watch his toons. Funny thing is though, the guy that does his voice is from the Syracuse area, which is where I live.

I disagree with the '22 minute commercial for SpongeBob stuff'. I don't know why you would think that....

Tome Kenny is awesome. He did Mayor for Power Puff girls, Spyro(in the origonal 2 and 3), and I think he played Phillip J Fry.

In c,losing, Spongebob never did any shameless advertising.

And I do eman never.

I don't like it because people look far too deep in it. His laugh is not a reference to some sixties actor. It being under the sea is not a reference to The Little Mermaid. It's a show for children, and it uses weak "layer cake" style to sell more merchendice to people with money.

Fry was Billy (Stimpy) West...
I'm not a Spongebob fan. Not that I think it's advertising (I mean, if I hated it for that, I would have to hate ALL of the cartoons I grew up with as a kid).. The reason I don't like Spongebob is just because it strikes me as really stupid.. Not the Seinfeld kind of funny stupid, either. Just regular old stupid..
Of course that's just my opinion.

I have no problem with SpongeBob. It's probably one of Nickelodeon's better shows.

As far as I'm concerned, Nickelodeon died the days that Double Dare, Salute Your Shorts, Ren and Stimpy (and not that crappy thing Spike tried to pass on us) and You Can't Do That On Television went off the air... How I long for those days.

I guess Spongebob is a cartoon that on paper I probably should like, as in some ways it has a lot in common with H*R, but the way most of the characters seemingly go out of their way to be as irritating and unlikable as possible really grates on me. There are some funny moments, yes, but I just can't get past that type of annoyingness to enjoy it much.

Spongebob's stupidness is what makes it so ridiculously awesome.
I heard a fact that 3 quarters of the people who watch Spongebob are over 20.

SPONGIE RULZ!!!

I love Spongebob. I'm wearing my shirt right now ^^

I don't see how you can hate it :/ I can see why some people might not like it. But hate it....?

Tom Kenny has done like, the most voice acting ever.

The fact that he "talked to himself" in an episode of Xiaolin Showdown (not sure which), is better than knowing Chris Sabat talks to himself all the time in DBZ....

Well, I don't enjoy Spongebob as much as I used to. It seems as if they only ever play reruns. There are still some rowfull-worthy moments, which is why I'll watch it very now and then. I prefer Fairly Odd Parents. Yah.

I love Spongebob! It is an awesome cartoon on Nick and has some awesome memories in my heart. Now, I do hate how many reruns they show, and I do hate all of their advertising, but it's still a cool show.

I like SpongeBob. Mark my words: the day Nick takes SBSP off the air is the day Nick goes off the air. If they take SpongeBob off, no one would watch Nickolodeon anymore. Same way w/ Cartoon Network and DBZ. Although Cartoon Network has been going downhill ever since they changed the logo to CN.

Nyet. If Spongebob goes off the air, Nick will have a show ready to replace it, I'm sure.

I don't like Spongebob for the fact that it has the most unlikeable characters ever.

One word: Catscratch. That seems to be Nicks spacegoat, after months of searching and putting on bad shows (Unfabulous? YES!) they have finally found the new spongebob.

According to a lot of people, of course.

Cartoon network would be just fine without DBZ... I'd be fine if they got rid of Teen Titans, and their Anime, too.. Give me more Robot Chicken, Sea Lab, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and I'd be just fine.
As for Nick, I will agree that Sponge Bob did do a lot to revive the network. It filled a void left by Ren and Stimpy and Rocco's Modern life when those departed the network.. Although I think the show is kinda stupid, a lot of people seem to like it, so that means ratings.. Looking at it in that light, it's a great thing for Nick. You can't go anywhere without seeing something Spongebob.. That may actually have more to do with my not liking it than my actual opinion of the show.

Cartoon Network simply vanished here, before this.. Aqua..... Happy Teenage Fast Food Brigade..... thing came on. I do remember it lost DBZ to the Dutch version of Toonami... which lasted about..... three months.

I loathe Spongebob. Much.

I love SpongeBob; I have several DVDs of the first two seasons. But I stopped watching the show on Nick after they made the movie. It's just not the same anymore without Sandy (she's one of my favorite characters), and with almost all the new season episodes taking place at the Krusty Krab, it started getting kind of dull.

Hey, I like the anime on CN! Though I do hate some of the dubbing. As for ATHF and Sea Lab, you're right, they need more of those shows on.

When it comes to Nickolodeon cartoons, there are four of them I like/watch a lot:

Fairly OddParents
Jimmy Neutron
Danny Phantom
and...

Spongebob Sqaurepants!!

And to a lesser extent, Catscratch.

(And 2 non-cartoon stuff: Ned's Declassified and the Amanda Show.)

So in closing, I like Spongebob Squarepants.

Ahem...

I freakin' hate Spongebob Squarepants!!!!11onehundredandeleven

I just find it so stupid and a waste of time. And not only that, some of the more subtle jokes on it are less than tasteful.

Bleah.

So in closing, I hate Spongebob Squarepants.

Okay, so I'm not an avid Spongebob fan. That doesn't mean I don't like it. I've been known to get quite a bit of laughes from that show.
