Where have you been? Most of us have known about this since July. And Vista was sounding good, but I really don't know anymore. |

And I Searched "Vista" and nothing came up, so I thought, that by some weird event, that no one saw it. Well, it seems there isn't a thread for it, soooo.... What do you like about it? It said on that website that the new Windows would turn on and off really quickly, like a TV. I think that's the coolest feature. |

Are seven versions really necessary? |

For that matter, is Windows even necessary? Microsoft's feature list is making me more and more want to permanently switch to the alternatives. |

Alright now, stop spamming guys. And I heard about Microsoft removing file menus or something... and it just sounds like a bad move. |

That's not in Vista, that's in Office 12. This is kind of a shameless plug, but if you want to keep up on software news, I recommend Download Squad. |

Meh, Vista's success is basicly riding in this WinFS stuff. IE7 is crap, so that's not gonna be the killer feature. Really. It's like a Firefox ripoff with none of the good stuff in it. We'll see... we'll see..... |

WinFS isn't going to be in Vista when it's released. I expect it to be added in a service pack, though you can download the beta--which presumably will be usable with Vista--as of last month. At any rate, WinFS won't be among Vista's selling points. But in essence, I agree. Microsoft is encountering the law of diminishing returns. They're doing a lot of interesting stuff in Vista, but it's too little, too late. |
