I'm really, really excited about this! Of course, I'll probably be out partying lol maybe-- but when I happen to be at home, I'm definitely going to watch this! I love the boondocks, so I bet the show will be totally awesome! I'm very hopeful. It'll be on adult swim, starting early november.

I don't think it'll work out. The last time they made a show about a newspaper comic, (Baby Blues) it didn't work out.

Yeah but Boondocks is so much better than Baby Blues, I think it will be a hit.

Well, the cartoon Baby Blues didn't work out because from what I saw, they didn't really make it very faithful to the original strip. The parents in particular seemed a lot more on the obnoxious and trashy side than they were in the more family oriented-comic, and that's just not cool.

The Boondocks really aren't my thing at all, but in comparison to other strips I can kinda see more potential in it working out okay as a cartoon.

I'm sorry to add to a mildly old topic, but I just wanted to point out that the Dilbert TV show was great... too bad it had to be canceled after 2 seasons. It would have done better if it wasn't on UPN...

By the way, I just don't get the Boondocks. Or any comic strip with political humor, I just prefer ones like Pearls Before Swine, Get Fuzzy, The Far Side, etc. I think they should have done Pearls Before Swine instead of The Boondocks.

But Boondocks is edgy and hip and cutting-edge! Good gravy boy, don'tcha know your buzzwords?

Anyways, let's just remember all the comics what did make good cartoons. Peanuts, Garfield (and Friends! We're ready to party, we're ready!), ...actually, y'know whut? They make cartoons out of comics all the time. Anime and manga. Yeah. Although arguably, some of those suck, but anyway...

Wow. I haven't heard about this (need to start going back to fark.com again). Well, go Boondocks. I don't think it's in my local paper, but sometimes I get the comics from the state capital, and they're a-prooty prooty good.
Also, one time someone said my drawing style looks like Boondocks - probably because I draw faces the same way...you know, the pointy-chin thing.

Anyways, good for them, and remember: if it makes people angry, then it's not selling out!

...the theme song better be freakin' awesome, man. Like, with a harmonica. Or something.

I saw the commercial for it (where three of the characters), and I thought it was pretty good.

Although I wonder wether AS will have it on Saturday (anime-style drawing) or Sunday (comedy). My guess is Sunday.

well the dilbert cartoon was one too, but it wasnt torrible like the bb cartoon, infact the dilbert cartoon was hillarius, and if the commercial is a good example of how the boondocks cartoon will be like, were not going to have to worry if it will be bad like the baby blues cartoon.

Yeah, I liked Dilbert too. It just seems to fit so well into the life of office workers. But for the Boondocks, I'm getting a good feeling that this is going to be better that Dilbert.

I loved Boondocks the comic strip, but I don't think I'll be able to watch it every night, do to the fact that I wake up on 5 am every weekday.

I haven't read the comic, but I saw the commercial. Seems pretty freakin' hilarious.
