I just got back from the Decemberists show, and.... wow. Absolutely stunning. That was just about the most entertaining show I've ever seen, and one of the best overall. The crowd was sooooo into it, the sound was great, and I especially loved the fact that they did their 18-1/2 minute epic "The Tain" as the opener to start off on an incredibly high note, plus how it got really theatrical and crazy in the last few songs (can't beat a sword fight with violin bows!). And I wouldn't even call myself that huge a fan of theirs necessarily - their albums are very good, but not quite great. As far as this particular concert, I can't say enough. They really inspired me tonight.
