Yes, Thanksgiving is here, my fr-"omg t3h n00b! t3h thanksg1v1ngx0rs is in a m0nth!"

Well, ha, non-Canadians. We Canucks get to stuff ourselves full and make our slow descents under the table a month or so earlier than you guys.

I plan on watching colonization several times, for one thing. Not going anywhere, though, we're staying here and indulging in the traditional. Turkey's pretty good, although stuffing disagrees with me. Used to like it, but anyway, my Canadian friends, what are you doing for Thanksgiving?

EDIT: No wait, never mind, we're having pork roast. Oops. And yay. Oops for the mistake, yay for the pork roast, and dang I'm rambling.

We're probably gonna sit there and eat while watching the Macy's parade on TV. Then I'll have to watch the toon about it on Homestarrunner.com

Well, i'm probably going to visit my relatives, eat turkey, and play video games with my cousins. That's what we usually do.

I'll probably just watch football and converse with family most likely at my aunt's house, I guess - nothing really special. Thanksgiving is by far my least favorite holiday anyway, just because of my rather severe picky eating problem. It's always kind of an awkward time for me, even though I'm told I shouldn't worry about it.

I'm going to my aunt's house today. There won't be a lot of people there, just close relatives. I don't know if we're going to have turkey, since one of my aunts is a vegetarian. We might have a Tofurkey.

For me, I'll be on the computer celebrating while watching the Macy's parade. Then, I clean up my room a little and usually our relatives come over to celebrate. Finally, it is the time of stuffing ourselves full of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pie.

Huh, now there's something I never knew. I thought Thanksgiving was USA only.

Well, happy Thanksgiving to the Canucks. And then to Yanks whenever you have your one.

Happy Thanksgiving to the Canucks. We have to wait more than another month for ours. *Grumble grumble*

I usually go to my aunt's house. We eat and watch football. That's it.

When it's Thanksgiving here I'll watch colonization lotsa times, of course. Not sure if I'll need to do anything else.

Are YOU joking? I think you are. :)

I like turkey and gravy, but I hate the side dishes (potatoes, stuffing). I hate mashed potatoes.

Dag. My parents have gone all crazy and are breaking the time-honored tradition of going to my great-aunt's house for Thanksgiving. Now we're going to my grandparents' house instead.

VIRGINIA IS THE ONLY PLACE FOR THANKSGIVING.

NOT FRICKIN' PENNSYLVANIA.

PENNSYLVANIA IS FOR CHRISTMAS.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA.

You're coming to Pennsylvania? What part? That's cool.

I personally LOVE Thanksgiving. It's my second favorite holiday, after Christmas. Everybody in my immediate family comes over, we fry a turkey, my grandma makes pumpkin, lemon meringue, and apple pies, and a lasagna too. It's not Thanksgiving without lasagna.

Wait...if Columbus landed in the Caribbean, then why do Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on Columbus Day? Shouldn't you guys celebrate it on Leif Erikson Day, which happens to be today?

Coincidence, I believe. It was made to coincide with the end of the harvest, which is earlier here. As well, don't forget, Leif Erikson Day is celebrated as an alternative to Columbus Day-the two are celebrated very close together, the only difference being is that Columbus Day is not a set date, while Leif Erikson Day is. If it mimicked it to the fullest, it would also be celebrated on the second Monday-I don't know why it isn't.

But anyway, the fact that this year the Sunday lands on Leif Erikson Day is coincidence, and so is Thanksgiving's placement next to Columbus Day. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving for fact of Columbus' landing, or for fact of Erikson's landing-Thanksgiving coincidentally landed on Columbus Day, and Leif Erikson Day set itself where it is in order to be within Columbus Day's vicinity, unintentionally also placing itself near Thanksgiving.

Actually, looking in the Wikipedia-Columbus Day was set on the second Monday of October 14 years after Thanksgiving was (1971 vs. 1957)! As such, our Thanksgiving definitely was not placed with Columbus Day or Leif Erikson Day in mind.

Or rather near it.

There's a Leif Erikson Day?

We're not celebrating Columbus. You're not celebrating Columbus on your Thanksgiving either. It's a harvest festival.

Ah, you lucky, lucky Canadians. Thanksgiving is my number one, all-time favorite holiday ever. It's just the best. Oh, and TEF? I quite agree with you. Virginia IS the place to be on the Day of T. By then I'll have gone to VA and then flown BACK to dumb ol' Hawaii. Stupid, hot, tropical, sunny, grumble grumble.

But still, I like having Thanksgiving here, because I don't have to see any relatives apart from my parents.

And that, my dearies, is a good thing.

This sounds like a good place to say that this month's National Geographic has an article on turduckens.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Holland. Don't pity us, we have Sinterklaas!

Sinterklaas, huh?

Hmm. From the article, it sounds a lot like Christmas, which makes me wonder what you actually do on Christmas itself.

I personally can't wait until Thanksgiving this year. My mom makes this broccoli, Ritz cracker and Velveeta casserole that tastes unbelievably great.

How was it? I have a vegan friend and she's thinking of serving one up this year.
