okay, so what does the HUB do? and what would the price be? and lastly, what kinda configuration? and yes, i have tried google, found nothing.
A hub lets you connect one computer (or PS2, or Xbox, or toaster) to another, or multiple computers to a cable/DLS modem.
Pretty much the only variable when it comes to hubs is how many ports there are and whether they're 10baseT or 100baseT (the latter being ten times faster; unless it's much more expensive, go for 10/100, i.e. one that does both). If you're running a LAN party you might need a 24-port hub or two, but if you're just networking a computer or two and a PS2, four ports is plenty. NewEgg has
a good selection.
(Oh, in browsing Newegg I turned up a lot of USB hubs, which are a different animal entirely. You're looking for network hubs. Sorry I didn't mention that initially.)
