Does anyone want to talk or complain about the olympics?
I've seen the same race with Ian Thorpe and Grant Hackett so many times I could throw a full wine bottle at my T.V screen.

Phelps is incredible... that is all.

Anyone who can win 1 medal (gold or not) is amazing. A guy winning 8 medals total, now that is just plain crazy. (then you consider how many are gold)

They need to invent an Olympic event for lazy people like me.

That is so true, but it sucks that we can't watch it live in Australia because of the time difference, I don't know about the rest of you.

When the first medal the Brits get is for male synchronised diving, you feel like emigrating. ;)

I don't know about you, but watching those divers is pretty cool. I love just watching the normal (non-synchronised) diving. When I was 9-10 I dreamed of being an olympic diver... of course I lacked just about every quality needed by one, so that didn't go far.

then they do these amazing dives, together... I think it's great. :)

This is the first year I have really enjoyed the olympics.

The last bunch, I was going through my I-hate-sports phase, caused by years of high school locker room anguish. I used to believe that people had to choose either artsy fartsy things or sporty things. I do not believe that now.

The people that are competing make such beautiful shapes! They have crafted their bodies to a Di Vinci - esque pattern!

Man, am I jealous.

But then again they probably have no time to do other things, like, say, post their opinion about the Olympics on a forum.

It's commercials aren't as good as the superbowl.

I hate that one guy who was from the United States, and he straddled the fence and got disqualified, and some other event he stayed up till like midnight before and event.

"We've got the, um, Olympics! Tonight."

Meh, I was never much for the winter Olympics, cept this one time, when I watched this ski event on Euro Sport (I was living in Germany at the time), and this guy said "like a hot butter through knife". If I knew the guy, I would never let him live it down.

Was anyone watching figure skating when that chinese guy through is partner and she totally wiped out (TOO THE EXTREME!)? That looked like a pretty bad fall, I can't beleive she went on after that.

Wow...this is a pretty deep dig.

So I've been watching the Olympics, and I'm gonna say they're looking pretty kool so far, except for the -500 points for taking SNL away for like 3 weeks.

Ya, that was really brave. And didn't they still win 2nd place? Good for them.

2nd place? Wow, most everyone else musta SUCKED!

I'm mainly rooting for the USA, of course, but I think the team is way over-hyped this year. They're already off on a bad foot; Bode Miller & Apolo Anton Ohno haven't done so well, & Michele Kwan dropped out. But props to Shaun White for being the first medalist in both the X-Games & the Olympics. 8)

Good luck to all the athletes, no matter what country they're from.

Man, Canada's not doing too well this year... but we are smashing everyone else in women's hockey!

I'm surprised at how well the US is doing so far. I'm not surprised about the halfpipe medals, but I'm shocked to hear about our speed skating golds and Ligety's combined skiing gold.

Does anyone know if this better than usual for the US at this point in the games?

Ha, tell me about it. Those scores are crazy.

I got up early this morning so I could watch the Canadian Men's Hockey team SCHOOL Italy. Man, that was rough. 7-2. I loved every mintue of it. What a great team we've got!

GO CANADA!

I haven't been keeping up with the Olympics. All I know is that Sean White is the greatest snowboarder ever. And he won a gold.

I watched about of the half-pipe snowboarding and speed sking, but that's pretty much it so far. I've never been a great fan of the Olympics, though I'm enjoying iot a bit more this year.

Ice skating! Ice skating! Ice skating is on the telly here all day. Almost no other sports. Just skating.
Holland is a skating countrie, everyone loves skating. Skating skating skating. There are just always Dutch guys/gals on the podium for skating.
I'm not much of a sports type, but my Mom has been a huge fan.

Well. It's kinda logic that skating (and swimming/biking in the summer)is about the only thing Dutch are really good at. How the heck should you go skiing here?

The Dutch royal family also likes skating ;)

Ireen Wüst wins gold! :)

Eh. I'm not that big a fan of the Winter Olympics for some reason.

Not only that, they went on to win the Silver Medal. That's guts right there.

It's not even worth watching olympic hockey until we play the US (or maybe Russia). Otherwise it's just like watching canada shoot at an open net.

I don't watch the Olympics much. I watch only the few events in which Estonians competete too. Winning is a REALLY big thing over here...
And this year, we are doing very good. Kristina Smigun has already brought us two golden medals in skiing. Yay!

I only watch the cool stuff. Like the gymnastics, or that thing where they throw streamers and balls around. Or the opening and closing ceremonies.

I thought you said you only watched cool stuff...
:p

I do my best to avoid the winter olympics. Not a lot that interests me there. Skeleton, Luge, Bobsled, Curling, Biathlon and the downhill skiing stuff are about all that interest me.

Figure skating isn't a sport. Sorry, anything that's judged instead of objectively scored can never be fair. Therefore it can't be a sport. (George Carlin should add that to his "not a sport" routine).

I should probably follow the Olympics a lot more than I have been... I've only been checking it out occasionally in the background (hockey, figure skating, and downhill skiing especially).

It upsets me so much that AMERICAN FREAKING IDOL is getting higher ratings. :(

Well why watch exciting international competition when you can watch Simon Cowell be a jerk?

People would rather see people who don't deserve fame than people who do. For further evidence of this, I bring up Paris Hilton.
