How fast can you run a mile? I ran it in 5:55 in gym, but I can beat that by track season.

I used to be a long distance runner. I usually ran a 6 minute mile, though my best time was like, 5:45 or something like that.

I think at my best I can do 2 KM in 16 minutes. But, Right now probably not as good as that.

No real clue. I'm so badly unathletic, I've never made it four times around the track without starting to walk at some point! I'd probably say somewhere around 10-13 minutes. ;)

At my peak, in high school, I was at about 5:30 (more than a full minute off of the current KHSAA state record of 4:13 [1600 meters run]), now, I'd probably be lucky to turn in a sub 7 minute mile.

edit: When I ran that 5:30, I pretty much dropped at the end... In PE, I usually kept it at about 6:30-7:00 just so I didn't kill myself for the rest of the day.

My last year in the Air Force, I ran a mile and a half in under 9 mins, which is about a 6 minute mile. But that was years ago. I'd probably do a mile today in just under 9 minutes.

Last time I had to run a mile, I was in my freshman year. We had to run a lap around a park across the street from our school that's 1.1 miles around, & I did that in about 7 minutes.

In about 4th grade, I believe, I got 8:38. The next year I beat that with 8:30.

But now, I have low stamina, so I tire out easily. I would probably do a mile in 9:30 nowadays take or leave hyperventilating for a second or two.

I used to be an ok runner, but now I pretty much suck at it. I don't really know how fast I'd run...

Sweet, I'm glad there are other distance runners on here! Last year I got 5:35, this year I'm hoping to get under 5:00 in track. Right now I'd say I can do a little under 5:20.

I'm not sure. We had to run amile in gym, so I was practicing, but I think I read the watch wrong, as I can't do a 7:30 minute mile. Maybe I'll try again someday, see what I can do.

EDIT: Oh, crap, I'm starting to think, by the looks of the race records I can find, that that 20:38 number might have come from a dream... I can't find it, so I'm starting to think that perhaps I misread one of the charts... accidentally looking in the column next to mine in a two-column affair. As such, I doubt it's it, and it seems too good to be true, so it probably is. And as such, I'm reconsulting the records to try to find an answer...

EDIT: Never mind, the 20:38 time is indeed the right time! Managed to find it again. Yes, indeed, 20:38 was the time. =D

Okay, I don't know what my time for a single mile is, but my best 5k time is 20:38 (and that was my third 5k, nicely enough). Doing the necessary math... well, provided my pace is consistent, that's a 6:36 mile. Granted, that was a relatively flat course. A few hills, but nothing major. My fourth 5k, which was on a course with a bit more random of an elevation, measured about a 6:57 mile.

Now, if I was running it only with the intention of running a mile, I might be able to do better, but at present rate, those two times (6:36 and 6:57) are the only indications I have.

Wow, Suicune, nice 5k time. If you look at the Run-Down performance calculator, it puts you at 5:48-5:51 in the 'Purdy' column (the Purdy column always seems the most accurate).

I hate the Mile Run. I despise it.

My personal record is around 12:something... yeah, I'm a nerdy little wimp girl. I usually start walking once I'm halfway through, or say I can't run because of this little problem I have where a lot of running makes my chest "snap".

I love long-distance running, I do about 5 miles on the beach every other weekend. Think my best time on the mile is something like 6:25.

Eh. My best time was 7:19, but I was on the verge of throwing up and collapsing after that. I'd much rather run the mile than do the pacer, though.

I can't run a mile, I just can't do it anymore when I'm about halfway through. Although it's not entirely my fault, I have flat feet, and it hurts extremely bad to run with the legs I have. You know, 'cause the flat feet...

That was kinda easy...

Edit: If only user Rourke was still here. He was pretty fast.
