I think the quests are good but the rest is repeditive.

And if you don't mind, we love people who don't use chatspeak.

I played Runescape for a little while, the once I tried killing the dragon for the last quest I needed I died and so I just said screw it. I started playing Star Wars galaxies after that.

I'm sorry, but I really don't like it. I've tried it and I don't see why so many people play this game.

Ya, when you think about it, there really is no point to it or any MMOs.

There's that, and the fact that some other MMOs out there, despite also having no point... are, you know... what's the word? Oh yeah: fun.

I think it's one of those games you play because your friends play it.

That's why I did. Then I kinda got hooked. After they moved on to other stuff, I kept with it, although not as much.

There really isn't much point to ANY game, if you really think about it. Sure, you play the game, you beat the game, etc, but what good did that really do?

They're fun, but that's about it..

With that said, I do enjoy playing games. I haven't really gotten into the MMORPG (or however you spell that) genre, mainly because of the way people act on those things. They get all mad because you kill "their" monster, or whatever. Ditto for most online games.
I can't stand people who take it so seriously that they feel the need to curse other players or cheat. Cheats (if you use them to beat the game or whatever) take all the fun out of the game.

Well I never said it wasn't fun, just pointless.

And what StrongRad said is a reason I don;t play alot of online games.

You ever see the video of the angry kid playing HALO?
That, is an exception to the "people curse other people" thing.
That's just hillarious.

But, yeah, in general, people are always getting so upset over a game in ways that aren't so comical. That being said, when I find myself getting upset at a game, whether it is online or one of those regular ones, you know what I do? I turn it off and do something I really need to do, like laundry, homework, or cooking.

Which is probably the best thing to do considering you play games for fun, not to get all angry.

I used to kinda like it, but I know a few people who take it WAY too seriously and I got sick of it. Bweh.

I know that, yeesh... I'm trying to say that Joker meant it wasn't fun, but somehow you interpreted it as him thinking it was pointless, which you tried to defend by comparing it to other MMOs. At which point I said even if it had a point (which seems to be the issue to you), it's not fun. The confusion has come about as a result of your failure to understand Joker-no, I never said you thought it wasn't fun. We were, and you're missing that.

Chill out man. You don't need to fly off the handle just because I didn't understand something.

Actually, I was less annoyed at you than I was at the prospect of having myself thought to be unable to understand something (a matter of pride and anal-retentiveness). X_X Sorry about that. I will admit I'm also in a relatively bad mood, which didn't help. Don't be sorry; no need.

Exactly, because I do like other MMORPG's, like WoW.

Oh, well I just posted something in the R&P thing that you should ignore, I was a bit upset with you myself. Sorry.

Why should people that pay not get extra stuff? I think people should get extra stuff if they shell out their hard-earned money for a game.

Pernsonally, I go through stages with games like Runescape. I was playing Final Fantast XI recently, which is a HORRIBLE game. So I lost interest in Runescape. But I was a member before, and I'd feel depressed to go back without those benefits. You know what I mean?

Funny you guys bring this game up... I just started playing it at work :)

It's nice since I can log on and not get too involved So if something comes up at work, I am able to close the window, take care of what needs taking care of, open the window, and start over again.

I also play Everquest 2, but that isn't something I think I should be taking to work :D

I haven't looked at membership yet, the non-member stuff has worked out ok for me so far. Maybe in the future I'll look at shelling out some cash... not today though.

I'm still a non-member.

To take advantage of the COOL member stuff, you kinda have to have high levels.

There are some member things that don't require that high a level, but, most of those are pretty blah.

Once I get REALLY up there, I may shell out some money. Of course, then, I'll have to play, and I don't really have time for that right now.

Clan... I am going to step in here (and I don't want anyone else to say anything, unless they have more admin-type power then I do). The previous post doesn't appear to have anything to do with anything this post is talking about, unless perhaps you are referring to the mod-ship over at runescape.

Keep your posts on topic or I am going to have to be forced to ask you to leave (and by "asking you to leave" I mean banning you).

The same goes for anyone else who wants to post anything in response to clan's post. I will treat them just as much spam as clan's. Seriuosly

I had a guy try to get my password once. He said he was from Jagex (the people who make runescape) and that there had been a complaint logged against me. He said that if I wanted to appeal to type appeal. Knowing what was going on, I played along. He then said, "your appeal has passed, type your password to remove the complaint from your record"
The password I typed: "nicetry"

I thought it was hillarious.

Jagex says IN BIG LETTERS, MULTIPLE TIMES on the Runescape site that nobody from Jagex will contact you, in game or otherwise, and ask for your password. Yet, this guy thought I was gonna give him my password because he said he was from Jagex. Of course, I reported him. Some people are really stupid.

Ive got multipul of those stories....i mean all the noobs are SO bad at it, why do they try??

one of them i got a pm from someone asking the same stuff, blah blah blah...then i went north a little and saw a green dot on the minimap...i knew it was him so i started chasing him. it was so funny, he started running away and stuff....

but yeah, just report, then play along for fun.
or when they pull "jagex doesnt let you say your pass, look at mine!! *******"
just say "really? (make up pass here)"
"oh dangit!"

its so fun....

also while somone is autoing (using a program to play for them) you can totally make them look like a fool
"hey want my santa hat for free?? *trades a bunch*"
then laugh when you take what they are autoing to get and do...like mine the rocks before them ect ect

but reporting is always needed
