Has anyone here ever actually been to a convention like Trogdor Con? One is coming to my town in February. I like some Japanese cartoons. Like Cowboy BeBop is pretty cool. And that scene from Kill Bill was awesome. But from the pictures I've seen, those conventions seem pretty depressing. Lots of people inappropriately dressed (as SB so glibly pointed out). And then the worst thing is probably all those women who wear revealing outfits and pretend to like lonely men and teenage boys, just so they can sell stuff. I mean that's along the lines of Hooters, or even worse, a strip club or something. |

Well, I wouldn't compare it to a strip club per say. But the reason why the women do that is because they know that it'll attract the men. as for going to one, I've never been to one, though I wish to. |

Just one, the huge anime/gaming/sci-fi/comic con in Toronto last August. I watched some FMA, met the guys from Red vs. Blue and the guy who played R2D2, got some cool swag. |

Nope. However, I REALLY wanna go to the San Diego ComicCon someday. I know that lots of awesome cartoonists go there. (One thing that would be cool is going up to Bill Morrison--I got his autograph when he came to my local comic store--and saying, "Hey, remember me?") Unfortunately, my parents aren't really into that kind of thing (it's not that they hate cartoons or anything--they wholeheartedly support my love of cartoons and cartooning--it's just that they're not exactly fans per se), so the chances of me going soon are slim. |
