Or Coldplay?

Talk to me about them. Perhaps my favorite two bands at the time being, with Coldplay being number one.

Um, I guess I like to talk about music. Sorry for the attention whoring though, I guess I could've searched around for an existing music thread. :coachz:

I think Guster is quite cool, and Lost And Gone Forever is especially very good in my opinion. Very likeable style and melodies, and you gotta love those bongos! :)

I confess to knowing very little Coldplay, though what I've heard didn't grab me too much.

I don't like Coldplay. Most of their songs seem really drab and boreing to me. I'm not sure if this is by Coldplay but that song that repeats "If you took it all, if a gave it all away for one thing, wouldn't that be something?*" over and over and over again is a good example. I like Guster though.

*Definatly not the right lyrics.

Mr. Kiss, those lyrics are from a song by Finger 11, which I also dislike. Ugghh..

It goes "if I traded it all, if I gave it all the way for one thing, just for one thing. If I sold it all, if I gave it all away for one thing, wouldn't that be something" over and over again. Very annoying. Especially when he says "all". But that's besides the point

Guster is pretty good, same with Coldplay. I don't have either of their cds, so I don't know too many songs by them, but "Amsterdam" by Guster (the only song I can think of by them at the moment) is good, and I like "Fix You" and "Speed of Sound" by Coldplay. The rest of Coldplay's songs are OK, but I, unlike most people I know, don't like "Clocks".

If you've ever heard of those songs.

Here's one I think even Guster would truly love:
Why not,
Take a crazy chance?
Why not,
Do a crazy dance?
If you lose a moment,
You might lose a lot,
so why not? Why not?

You don't even know who Guster is, do you?

I celebrate both bands' entire libraries.

Except Guster's first CD from 1994, that one sucked. But everything since has been great. Lost and Gone Forever and Keep It Together are golden.

As for Clocks... I wouldn't even rate that song in the top half of the songs on that album. However, the way that Chris Martin played it in concert was just amazing. Played it so fast, and it makes sense, since he's done it so much.

Fix You is amazing, Speed of Sound is kinda boring to me. Once again, they have better stuff on the album.

At least no one used the excuse "they're too popular" for not liking them. I hate music elitists.

Yeah, I don't get people like that. So what if you're not the only person who likes them?

Fix You is probably my favorite of Coldplay's, but I don't know many of their songs. A lot of Coldplay's songs sound the same, though.

Coldplay is one of my favorite bands. My favorite song by Coldplay is The Scientist. I also like Clocks and Yellow.

Good choices there.

I had a very hard time deciding on a Coldplay Top 5 songs, though...

In no order...

Yellow
Everything's Not Lost
Fix You
The Scientist
Politik

It was tough leaving Trouble, Don't Panic, Swallowed in the Sea, and Green Eyes out of there.

As for all of Coldplay's songs sounding alike... I think all the Beatles' songs sound alike, but that doesn't make them any worse. Every band has their own style.

This morning I purchased front-row tickets to Guster in March.

Pretty good day so far.
