I've recently begun watching this show, and I'm really starting to like it. I mean, really starting to like it. I'm searching all over the Adult Swim store and eBay for DVDs and anything of Al that I can possibly find (Yes, Al is my favorite. I wish he were my little brother. :p) I think what I like about it is that the characters seem so real. You can really feel sorry for them when bad things happen, or feel like punching someone's face in because they killed/hurt a certain character. I never liked anime too much, but for some reason I'm really drawn to this one.

Is anyone else as insanely obsessed with this show? And if so, does anyone else think Al is awesome?

Better when it wasn't censored for TV. So was Naruto. So was Trigun... so was Inuyasha (There got to be some really steamy stuff in that series...).

That's why I'm trying to find some uncut DVDs, so I can watch them in Japanese with the original voices with subtitles and nothing censored.

Who is your favorite character? :)

And I'll try looking at Suncoast. I'm pretty sure they'd have it. After all, they have DVDs of South Park and Happy Tree Friends. I don't think FMA could be much more violent or vulgar as those shows.

I like Fullmetal Alchemist. Roy's my favorite character. I mean, how could you not love Roy?

It hasn't been censored that bad. Especially not when compared to Naruto.

Just good old reliable Ed. I don't care if he's the main stream favorite, I like his angry 'I'M NOT SHORT' fits.

You're right about that. I mean, when The Sess goes on a continuous rampage, you know a game is bad. :P

I haven't watched FMA in a while now...I should get back to watching it.

Trigun was never really edited. I have the series, and it is not all that different.

I think FA is pretty good, it is not the best anime I have ever seen, but it is good.

I just found a site that lists the changes made in episodes 1-3. The English dub seems to have a lot of dialogue added in that's pretty pointless and dumb, and some other lines are butchered into something stupid. I guess that Ed is a lot nicer in the original, and that the dub makes him out to be a jerk, and sometimes a total airhead. Does anyone know if the DVDs use the original dialogue in their subtitles when played in Japanese?

Also, how can I tell if the DVD is uncut? I'm planning on buying these on eBay since it would be cheaper, and I want to be sure I'm spending my money on what I really want.

God, I freakin love this show.

I've seen some of the JApanese Fansubs (That's what they watch in my dorm) and wasn't so impressed - but that's just me. Maybe it's because I like the American voice acting so much. It's freakin incredible: Alphonse sounds soft spoken, Envy actually sounds gender neutral (he's a genderless monster), and tucker is a freak in the later episodes where he's SPOILER ALERT turned into a horrifying creature with an upside down head through his dumb experiemtns . It's a deep, deep show, and the only Anime I like.

I love Al's American voice. It really matches his character well since he's the kindest and gentlest character on the show (which his why he's my favorite, btw). I was kinda disappointed when I read that his Japanese voice actor was a 26-year-old woman.

I'm more interested in hearing, or actually reading since it would be in subtitles, the original dialogue of the show. I guess very little has been changed visually, but some lines have been majorly changed, even entire conversations sometimes. Like, in the first two episodes Ed doesn't say as many religious insults, which is odd since that seems like something that would be taken out, not added in.

I love Fullmetal Alchemist! I personally think it's the 2nd greatest TV show ever!

Well, I got volume 1 on DVD, and loved the subbed version so much more than the dubbed one. I was worried Ed and Al would sound too girly, but I don't think they did. I loved it so much that I went to the mall and bought volumes 2 and 3, and am going to buy volume 4 after I get my paycheck. Volume 4 has my favorite episode on it (Flame vs. Fullmetal).

I don't know why I like the subbed version better. I guess it must just be because I love hearing foreign languages being spoken, and I love reading. I used to watch TV shows in Closed Captioning when I was younger, even though I don't need it. :p

Oh, and I ARTPAD'D! Al = http://artpad.art.com/?ithbqzdvjc

Love it. Not only is it deep (like how it was mentioned), but it's one of the only things to have actually made me cry. o_o I guess I'm pretty insensitive, but that one really sad Chimera episode? Wow. Guess what? There were tears. :B

I haven't managed to watch all of it yet, I think I've seen up to episode 32. Or somewhere around there. But so far, so awesome.
