Homeschool: American football, or everybody else's football?

I can never tell in multinational forums...

Wow, that sounded more diplomatic than I meant. "multinational forum." Maybe we should claim to be a major governing body and bring wolrd peace with Homestarry goodness.

OMGWTFUPS?!?!?!

Who's trying to get rid of the ladytypes? Lamp? Lamp is a girl? Really? Well, in that case . . . I love lamp.

I also love Sunday mornings, crisp collars, new guitar strings, new picks, fresh batteries, ripe fruits, cool air on a hot day, that painful feeling you get right after you spit out Listerine, Trillian, vaccum tubes and clean socks.

I love Anchorman too, SC. It was on today and I cancelled my nonexistent plans so that I could watch it.

I like your attitude, Helmet. Can I also then add to my list of awesome things trees, bubbles, fresh air, chilly wind, the smell of fresh-cut grass, a new box of crayons, seedlings, climbing rocks in rivers, seeing new things, and other little rawksome things?

Ah, that'd be American football, the one with the Steelers and the Packers and the Colts and the Panthers and all those crazy teams!

I think it's a tie between video games and internet. They both consume so much of my life.

It's almost sad...

My most favorite thing ever: The word "Defenestration". It means to throw someone/something out a window. That is so awesome. Do not deny it!

I learned the word "Defenestration" from Calvin and Hobbes. Proof that it is the awesomest comic ever.

I actually learned "Defenestration" from one of my old videogame magazines, as well as many other words. Actually, I learned A LOT of my favorite vocabulary words from gaming magazines/videogames. "Serpentine", "Ethereal", "Bombard", "Adamant"... Proof that videogames and videogame-related things can be educational, haha!

Let's see... have I learned any interestin' vocabulary words from video games? The only one that comes to mind is "morphology," the study of the form and body of a living thing without regards to the how or why of its workings...

But I've learned some amusing things about fish and insects thanks to the latest Animal Crossing installment. :P

Oh, yes. I've learned a ton of cool, non-vocab stuff from games, too. I found out about the Gaia Theory of Life and all my favorite mythical beasts from the Final Fantasy games. Catoblepas, from FFVIII. Catoblepas is my favorite mythical beast. w00t. :B (It's a giant bull with an iron hide and horns so heavy it can barely lift its head (the word 'catoblepas' means 'one who looks downward'.) It's a good thing it can't because its stare either turns you to stone or kills you, depending on the story.)

I've learned a bunch of different mystical creatures from a GBA game called DemiKids, where roughly half the monsters are based on mystical creatures from just about every mythology on the planet. ^_^

Demikids sounds... really familiar.

But, yeah, I've noticed over the years lots of videogames, especially RPGs, tend to have a bunch of their monsters based of mythical creatures. Final Fantasy has had the Phoenix, Bahamut (which is actually a giant fish rather than a dark dragon), Chimeras, Fenrir, Ahriman (Another favorite creature. For a while I was completely stuck on drawing eyeball monsters)....

Some Pokemon are based off mythical creatures, too. Golduck looks like a Kappa, Ho-Oh looks like a Fung-Hwang.

Games I've made have used tons of mythical creatures.

And ect.
