Anyone have a particular song, tune, or funeral dirge that, when you hear it, it just makes you feel good? A song so wonderful, that upon hearing it, all your troubles seem a lot less troubling? For me, that song would be The Rubberband Man, by the Spinners. |

I have a ton of songs which fit that description, and sometimes I skip around my playlist just to hear them. As for one that really jumps to mind, though, the New Radicals' "You Get What You Give". There's something incredibly joyous and uplifting about that song which gets me every time. |

Anybody remember the target commercial that was on during the Christmas season? Not the one that showed Earth, Wind, and Fire, but the one with the guy who had the minibus filled with presents. He arrived at the party and started giving them out. That song totally just made me get up and dance. Every freaking time it came on. But I dunno, it just made me feel good and lighthearted every time. On a totally different note, for some reason when I'm feeling crummy I listen to Tom Petty's Wildflowers CD. Helps me chill out. |

If I'm ever feeling lame or bummed, I can always count on the song "Falling For The First Time" by the Barenaked Ladies to cheer me right up. It's silly, mildly deep, and I like the chorus a lot... Anyone perfect must be lying, Anything easy has its cost. Anyone plain can be lovely, Anything loved can be lost. What if I lost my direction? What if I lost sense of time? What if I nursed this infection? Maybe the worst is behind. |

She Don't Use Jelly. Either Ben Folds' or The Flaming Lips' version will do. That song gets me everytime. The New Radicals, you get what you give is kinda hard. It reminds me of one of those High School relationships. (Either you know what I am talking about, or you will know in a few years). I also love driving around to Dark Side of the Moon (or sometimes, Dub Side of the Moon, by the East Side All-Stars). Then of course, there are certain classical tunes that I just can't get enough of. In particular, Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings. (It was in the movie Platoon I believe) There where a couple of songs that we did in symphonic band... anything by Robert W Smith rocks my socks. |

We did "Into The Storm" in high school. I thought we did a great job until I heard a local high school marching band do it (with a 2 1/2 minute percussion break in the middle).. THAT was awesome. |

The msot prominent one for me is defenitely "You and Me" by Lifehouse. It's such a beautiful song, and I can relate to it. Second is probably "Lincoln Avenue" by Train. Also an amazing song, with great lyrics. I'm listening to it right now! |

Though I have no idea who wrote it, or what the Japanese lyrics mean, the song that fits that description for me would be Densha De Go. It's so... Uplifterating™. Dragostea Din Tei by O-Zone is also right up there. (Another song sung in a language I don't know. xD) And...oh, the themesong to the anime Hellsing. I love listening to that. Makes me really energetic for some reason. |
