Kobe Bryant scored 81 POINTS!!! against Toronto. That's more than anybody except Wilt. Do you think that is was a great performance or a self glorified ballhog?

I say "both".

Kobe WAS a ball hog last night, but you have to remember that the Lakers don't exactly have any good players.

So, while he was a ball hog, logic says that the guy that shoots the best should shoot the most (meaning he SHOULD be a ball hog) Whether he shoots THAT much better than the other players on the team is debatable.

Man, I wish I saw the game. I didn't even get to see it on SportsCenter this morning. Yeah, sorta like StrongRad said, Kobe's kinda always a ballhog, but even for a ballhog it's a great feat.

Even if he is a ball hog, it's still a totally amazing accomplishment, considering this is only the second time ever in NBA history that someone scored 80, and it also didn't hurt that it came in a come-from-behind victory. Plus, it's also worth noting that he took 17 less shots than Wilt Chamberlin did to get his 100 point game.

The real thing to consider here... when Wilt scored 100, who's team won the game?.

Kobe Bryant may be a ball hog, but as long as the lakers win when he hogs the ball, I don't really care. :) If he keeps it up, it will just make for easy defensive schemes. 3 guys cover kobe, the other 2 flirt with the dancers.

Wilt's team won. It wouldn't really be as big as it was if they lost.

Actually, if my memory serves me right, right when Wilt scored 100, the crowd rushed onto the court. The game never really finished.

I stand corrected. I had been told that the even though he scored 100 points, they still lost the game. That is a blatent lie.

Did I just own Stu? Do I win a medal or something? I feel special.

As for Kobe, the Laker's don't care if he's a hog or not, as long as they win games.

And to think I scored 99 points with Jason Williams in NBA Live 06.

If I just landed that last free throw.
Toastpaint.

For the people in America, and the world, who think Kobe's a ballhog,
YOU ARE JEALOUS!

This is something that has not been done in about 35, maybe even 40 years. Even if he is a good ballhog, he's a GREAT scorer.

CONGRATS KOBE!

Actually, Stu, dormar, I read closer and it said that is was a 169-147 LAKERS victory. Owned.

Umm... where? :-S

"Indeed, not three months later, on March 2, 1962, in a 169-147 victory over the New York Knicks in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Chamberlain scored 100 points in a single game--no overtime periods necessary."
