Awww...I feel like a jerk for laughing about it. But, it is a bit funny.

That is unusual. I like how she said "After all these years I can't believe I died because of a bloody banana". Still, it isn't nice to laugh about it... Even though it is sorta funny.

It's funny- and sad- but at least her family (and her) were able to look at it lightly.

When I first saw the name, I thought it had something to do with the fact that if you dropped a penny off the Empire State Building, it could kill someone walking below. So I thought it had fallen from far up onto someone's head.

That's not actually true.

That story shouldn't be funny, but it is. I kinda want to die like that--in the most comical way possible.

Death by banana? How does that work? How do you die by gettign scraped by a banana? This is one of the most odd things I have ever heard.

So, fruits aren't always so good for you, after all. :0

I've always said that I want people to be laughing and having fun at my funeral, because even though I'd like to be missed, I want to be remembered for spreading joy. And if I had to pick a way, something funny like this would probably not be a bad one... Yeah, it's ironic, but you have to admit, it's pretty funny.

I smell an honorable mention in the Darwin Awards...

So it cut right through her leg? So what...did she die of blood loss, or of infection, or of somthing else...weird.

It said "complications" so, I'm guessing it has something to do with infection or something like that.

He? *looks down* Uhm, actually....

And, yeah, I agree with the infection thing. Sounds most probable. That's how most people who get injuries like that die. (At least I'm pretty sure)

To be honest that's what I was actually hoping for. I know it's insensitive but...Ya...

Exactly what I and probably most people were thinking.

If there's a such thing as a humorous real life death, this is among the closest to it I've heard.

Poor woman.

Not so long ago a dutch woman died because a flower pot (right word?) fell on her head from a building. The worst thing is that she came to visit the people living there to warn them about the fact that putting flower pots on the edge of your balcony is dangerous.
How ironic.

I don't know, she was pretty old and could possibly have had a kid in that time. If that's the case then she can't be.

Ironic indeed.

I feel sorry for the woman. I don't want to say it was funny, but it was a...unique way of dying.

For the sake of her dignity I would forge that death certificate. I would remove banana and put in something a little more lethal.

I don't think it's funny.

I think that's an awesome way to go out. Better than dying in my sleep anyway.

That's why I said honorable mention. Honorable mentions don't have to fit all the criteria--which is why they're only honorables and not actually winners.

At least she could laugh about it, eh? :P

Wow, that's funny. In a morbid, sardonic way, that's funny.

But I think the most sad part about it is having to live through knowing she would die by a banana. Not like, a giant banana instantly squishing you, but being hit by it, and later told you're gonna die because of it. That's something I'd imagine happening to me.
