I've totally lost faith in almost all of modern music. Man, fallout boy? Since when is that rock? I am looking forward to some new weird al and the new The Who album.

Fall Out Boy is a different KIND of rock. Different from your taste at least. I enjoy Fall Out Boy very much, and classify it as rock.

Fair enough, I myself think of rock as more complex than Fallout Boy, but that's just my inner musician speaking

Mr. Kiss, you are now my favorite music related poster, even though I can't say I'm much of a KISS fan.

I've heard about new stuff from Weird Al, Eiffel 65, Linkin Park, Mr. Pacman & Joy Electric; Blue Man Group also reportedly is working on a new album...

The Black Crowes (apparently . . at least I get the new live DVD next month)

2 of my favorite bands. Lucky me. I had high hopes when Pink Floyd played Live 8, but oh well.

It's official, we're long lost brothers.

...Erm, I mean, it's official that you have good taste. The main thing I'd been looking forward to was Testify, but that's already out, and I got it first thing. It's the best. Just so you know, Eiffel 65's new album is called Crash Test and Joy Electric's is Montgolfier and the Romantic Balloons. Bad name, good music!

A friend of mine assures me music now is much better than the 90s, but I can't find anything I really like at all these days.

Oh, sorry. I'm not really Joy Electric savvy. My friend is a Joy Electric addict and she wanted me to check out the site. I didn't know that came out yet.

Last I heard Franz Ferdinand was touring and writing songs, and they wanted to get into the studio as soon as possible. Seems awful fast, but in this society people can release one album and make a living off of it for years (*cough*Maroon 5*cough*)... So if that actually happens, that would be cool.

Well, back int' day bands routinely made an album a year. It's a relatively recent phenomenon for bands to take two years between records

Whay are there no Radiohead fans on this forum? I'm hoping for a new release by them

I love Radiohead, but as with the Flaming Lips they're one of those bands where I'm not necessarily on the edge of my seat waiting for their record. It'll come out when it comes out and then I'll buy it

You know they wouldn't have lived up to the old days. Live 8 was a fine ending to the Pink Floyd saga to my mind

Anyway, I'm waiting for five records:
- the new Marilyn Manson album
- Current 93's Black Ships Ate The Sky, which will be doubly sweet as I ordered the subscriber edition, so I get a bonus CD and my name on the thank-you list
- Nurse With Wound's hip-hop album, allegedly called B**chin' 'n' Bitin' 'n' Pimpin' (Goatherd)
- Scott Walker's rumoured new album
- Portishead's new album

I kind of like 90's music. Reminds me of my childhood. (can you have a childhood if you are 14?)

Yeah. You probably meant your EARLY childhood like when you were 5 or something.

That's pretty good. By the way, Darth Katana, POD is pretty good.

I'm totally looking forward to the new Flogging Molly album. They kick so much arse. It sucks that the Green/Black 17 tour isn't coming anywhere near where I live...

I'm really looking forward to Aerosmith's new album (hopefully they do make it). I want to see them in concert again!
