Um.. no, Lost is not a sitcom, it's a drama. I think your understanding of what a sitcom (which stands for "situational comedy") is might need a little tweaking.

Actually, BTG, Lost is the exact opposite of a sitcom. A sitcom is a show in which a group of people, typically a family or group of roommates, as in The Cosby Show or Friends, get into a bunch of wacky half-hour shenanigans on a regular basis and resolve them almost as quickly. Lost, however, is neither a reality show nor a sitcom. It is a drama, and a rather good one at that.

Now, I could live without all reality shows except The Amazing Race. That's a pretty good show.

OK, OK, I could live without that one too, but I'd rather not. ;)

EDIT: Urk. Smultipost'd with IJ. Idge?

I also want to add that I think that people who get all riled up because their favorite character got killed or because so-and-so broke up with whats-her-face both crack me up and drive me nuts. Seriously, people, it's a TV show. Go 'way.

Any bachlore(sp?) or bachlorette(sp again?) type show.

In my opinion, the only reality shows that are worth a flip are ones that involve chefs, marine drill sargeants, bald guys with swords, or Australian guys who wrestle alligators.

Yep, those are the ones I don't really care for. The rest I can ignore, but I hate it when I'm watching a game and then all of a sudden an ad for one of those crazy shows pops up.

All of them need to die. But if I had to pick, dating ones. All of the dating ones.

I agree.. Dating shows are stupid. They are too predictable, and not in a good or funny way.

Even though it's not a "reality" show, per se, I want American Idol to go away for a REALLY long time (forever isn't quite long enough).

I totally agree with Diddy here, all of the above makes for high quality TV.

I'd have to agree with Jitka. I mean, I love reality, but only for its stupidity. Amazing Race is just awesome, though. I can't wait for the new season to start.

If anyone reads time Magazine, it has an article that talks about "Unscripted" Television. The things they say make me never want me to watch Survivor again. All they do is edit. None of it is "Reality". 'It the me if television they edit do' That's the style of a sentence on a reality show. Take five words from other sentences that best benefit the story they want, and that's what the characters say. Reality, Yeah, Right.

All of them. Every single one. Except maybe Amazing Race, probably the only one I can watch for more than 3 seconds without thinking gnawing my own leg off would be a more better way to spend my time....
....more.....better....

BUT STILL. Reality shows are the worst thing to happen to media since hip-hop.

There's some decent reality outside of the broadcast stations.

I mean, I can't live without Project Runway. I mean, Santino? Gay men? Fashion design? Absolutely effing awesome fashion design? It's like, the best reality TV ever.

And then there's stuff that's fun to watch because it sucks.

Oh, reality television can also be extended to cover shows like Trading Spaces and whatnot... it's a rather broad category. A lot of them are overdone and should go away, sure, but there are some exceptions that are watchable in a good way. I used to think "Funk REALITY TELEVISION" but there is some to be explored in the format. I mean, it's going to stay around for a while. We might as well see how good we can make it.

And I'm a Radio/TV major. Well it's not as bad as thinking Lost is a reality show.

True. Reality is real, Sitcom is fake, so BTG was closer than clan.
