That's one of my favorite sites besides this one. I don't know if you could call me a "psion" yet: is a kid fooling around with ingredients in his mom's ktchen a chef? But I've been trying out some skills (mainly constructs.) Although I have been to some of their chat room meetings (like the one where they were bending forks.)

Psionics is, basically, the study of psychic phenomina. The particular site linked to is a great started site, which gives you tips for many starter skills. It has a great community, and if you need help, go to their forums or their chat.

You know, when I first saw this, I thought it was a bunch of hooey, and was ready to immediately dismiss it as such.
However, as a person of faith, I cannot ignore that there is more to the universe than is immediately obvious. As such, I cannot dismiss this, simply because I don't understand it (and yea, I REALLY don't understand this).

I am a Christian psion as well, as my SN suggests, and I am incredibly persecuted at school, and I didn't expect to get it here....

Yeah, I know a couple BYU students... Those girls are most certainly not living by that code. It'd suck if they got found out. I'd hate to get kicked out of school in my last semester.

Of course, overly strict as those rules are, the students know them when they go to BYU.

Anyway, to keep from turning this into a discussion about overly strict school rules, I'm gonna toastpaint this.

H8ns8n, it really sucks that they'd kick you out of school for that.
I mean, I can kinda see their point, as it does kinda fly in the face of Christianity as I know it (but, like I said earlier, I have an open mind abou this stuff, as there is a LOT about Christianity that I don't know).

No it isn't. Psionics does NOT explain the unknown, it merely IS the unknown. All religions can only be called "religions" if they explain something. It's not some weird cult: it's just people exploring the weirdest, most unknown thing in the world. It's science, really. If you're a skeptic, you can sneeringly refer to it as "alternative science" in your peer groups. Just don't call it a religion.

Gar. I've no clue what to think any more. At first glance of the site, I said to myself "What a load of bollocks." Then I (bieng the open minded and awexome individual that I am ) tried out the whole psiball thing. It... worked...

So now I'm kind of confused. Part of me says it's still bollocks and that I was just telling my mind to see it, in hopes that in the long run, telepathy would improve my euchre game. The other part of me thinks it was actually there. I'm so confused...

I'm admittedly a rather hardcore science kid, and I'm approaching this with a lot of skepticism. I consider myself open-minded for the most part but I just don't see how this could work. Sure, you may be able to see something or whatever... but is it really energy pulled from the sun or moon and whatnot? (that's the part I have the most trouble believing when it comes to those psiball things of the little I read.) I'd like to see proof, and not a personal testimony kind of truth, more like... research, but such things are really difficult if not impossible to do.

It's not as if I've never had any strange experiences. I've pictured images in my mind and I've seen them years later, more than once, but that hasn't happened recently and I doubt it will happen again. Most recently I think it was just a vague feeling that I recalled. I just account this to deja vu and coincidence.

Listen, I am a Skeptic. That does not mean I will sneer at you all, but the thing is, if you want skeptics to believe you, prove it. And not "Yeah, I saw that psiball completely! How weird!" Like real scientists. Personally, I believe if this weren't bull honkey it would be nationally accepted. We don't have any problem with this stuff existing; hundreds of objective scientists would be happy to conduct experiments. We have a problem with blind belief and self delusion.

On a side note, I do indeed know what Cthuluism is, assuming you take it from H.P. Lovecraft.
