I did a search for this and found nothing (keyword: misheard), so...

Any really funny song lyrics you've misheard?

One time when I was in Starbucks, I heard some guy singing what sounded like...

"It's Bill Pratt!
Time for destruction...
IN HIS CAR!"

I dunno who Bill Pratt is, but it was pretty funny.

Oh, I've got a lot, but I've gotta remember them. However, I remember a long time ago that my mom said she misheard these lyrics..

Everytime you go away,
You take a peice of me with you

she misheard as

Everytime you go away
You take a peice of meat with you

And my freind thought "Can't fidn the better man" was "Can't find the butter man"

I completely misheard Panama by Van Halen.

And most songs by Nirvana. Ever heard Smells like Nirvana by Weird Al. That pretty much describes Nirvana's lyrics.

In the TMBG song "Particle Man", I thought "degraded man" was "the greatest man". I also thought that "does the water get him instead" was "does the water get dim instead". Roffle.

My wife used to hear

"If I could find you now, things would get better...
We could leave this town and run for mayor..."

In Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard.

Well, in the song "I Feel So" by Box Car Racer...

I misheard "So lost, confused, again" as "It's gopher fusion time", which shows that I had been watching too much Invader Zim.

And in "Ana Ng" by TMBG, I misheard "To the horn on the phone at the bus depot" as "To the horn on the phone at the busty poe"...which sounds really dirty when you think about it. I also misheard "Why was the bench still warm? Who had been there?" as "Why was the bench still one who had been there?".

Well, you should. ;)

It's really.

"We could leave this town and run forever."

I don't know who sings the song....but do you know "Video Killed the Radio Star"? Well. I used to think that it was saying, "Maybe I'll Kill the Radio Star".

That'd be "The Buggles"

I used to mishear Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love as "Might as well face it, you're a dip dip doo lub" instead of "Might as well face it you're addicted to love". I was, like 5, ok?

One time, there was this rap where they say "peace treaty" and I thought they were saying "he's greedy" - weird!

Yeah, there was another song where they say, "getting a thousand more than you could ever send." I thought they were saying "getting a thousand more than you could ever sin" - totally weird!

Always.

There's, like, too many to list.

Not very many of them very funny, though. 'Cept, there was this song I've never heard before, and I thought it said "Disco Hell" in the chorus. Upon listening to said chorus again, they definately didn't say "Disco Hell".
I did end up writing a song based on that, though. xD

Just so you know, these things are called Mondergreens. They are named after the misheared lyrics:

"They layed him with his country, and laid him on the green"

was heard as;

"They laid him with his country, and Lady Mondergreen"

Don't know the exact lyrics to the first part. *Pulls at collar*

Your sig reminded me, there was this one rap and I thought I heard them say "getting powned." I looked up the lyrics and they didn't. I don't remember what they really said.

Ooh! I forgot the funniest one!

There's a Peter, Paul, and Mary song that has the line, "'Cause the Pharisees were bettin' that Jesus was a fraud". When I was younger, I always misheard it as, "'Cause the Pharisees were bettin' that Jesus was a frog". I still sing it like that, because I think it's funny.

Well, you know the song "Cotton Eyed Joe?" Well, the part where he says "If it hadn't been for Cotton Eyed Joe," I misheard that as "Bet I could do Cotton Eyed Joe." Heh. Me and my dirty mind.

Maybe they got him confused with Jeremiah (who was a good friend of mine).

I kept mishearing

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride

from In The Middle by Jimmy Eat World
as

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're a little bit of after ride

I knew it couldn't be right, but I had no idea what he was saying.

I used to think I misheard that song... Turns out, I didn't.

Same thing with CCR's Lookin' Out My Backdoor.

The lyrics were too strange for me to be hearing them correctly, yet I was.

For a very very VERY long time, I used to think actual lyrics to Jesus Christ Superstar were.... well. They went as follows:

Jesus Christ, superstar
Walks like a woman
And wears a bra

My cassette tape was reaaaaally old and worn out and HONEST TO GOD, that's what it sounded like!

Upon seeing it in theatres, I said they were singing it wrong XD ... I WAS YOUNG OKAY.

In Debaser by The Pixies, I always misheard "girlie so groovy" as "God is so groovy".

I thought (and still think up to today) that at the beginning of System of a Down's song Know that it began with the lead yelling "GOSSAMIER!", like that character from Loony Toons.

And from the same album, some of Sugar is hard to understand too.
