And what comes to Trek movies, most of them are pretty good imo. There are a couple of really great ones (First Contact) and a few really bad ones (Insurrection...).

The culture of Southern Idaho/Northern Utah in the late 80's early 90's. I'm not saying that some one who grew up in NYC coudn't find it funny, but there is a lot that he/she would not catch. It's not just small town humor... its an entire sub-culture. It may seem kinda generic to some people, but it was anything but generic imo.

Huh. Actually I have family in northern Utah, and there are definitely similarities. Maybe I'm just kind of used to the humor portrayed in ND that I just didn't find it funny. Ah well...

I'm not a huge movie afficianado, so I can't really say that I've been bored with movies other people think are great. The only one that really comes to mind is The Goonies. Yeah, it was good, but it isn't good enough for a day not to go by without someone yelling "Heeey, you guyyyyyys!"

Same thing with Family Guy...

I have two words for the Matrix sequels "UNNECESSARY" and "MISSEDOPPERTUNITY".

I mean, good gravy! It's like they took everything awesome about the original and then threw it out the window.

For those of you who don't like Star Wars, you have to remeber that it's obviously going to lack some of the old flair once Han Solo is gone. I liked all the new movies (Ep:3 is tied with Ep:6 and 5 for second best) except for episode 2 (too much talking, and the colours were annoying to look at).

As for Me, The Wizard of Oz.

The Princess Bride. All my friends love it and hate me for laughing at them for it. I think the funniest part was that they adored their dear WESLEY, not Westley. Smart, guys. But anyway, it's BAD!

Except for Fantasia, which my Mom dislikes.

I don't mind Disney so much. Aladdin and Lilo & Stitch are two of my favorite movies ever, but I'll agree that there's a lot there to dislike. Will you be bringing canned food? Because I only brought provisions for one.

That's probably about a thousand times more intelligent than the brainstorming process for 90% of the movies made these days. It seems the only films that come out are either garbage, or incredibly boring, incoherent garbage that attempt to relay some sort of message about politics and society, and fail miserably 'cause nobody has any idea what's going on in the film. Granted, there are a few good films each year, but we're seeing substantially fewer. It's no secret that the film industry is on the decline.[/i]

Moulin Rouge. Seriously. I've seen this movie twice in hope to get the same reaction as every other girl in my school. Nada. It's just.. so.. bland. 'Hey! Let's steal everybody else's songs and throw them together and create a stupid plot!' Ack, I really.. don't.. get... it.

The Village. STUPIDEST. MOVIE. EVER. No wonder it was a 12. What is so scary about a giant porcupine chasing after a blind girl?

Lord of the Rings 1, 2 and 3. I didn't like the books. I thought the movies were okay but they're the kinda movies that I can only watch once or I'll get completely bored of the plot.

The Ring, The Grudge and pretty much any new horror movie. It's like they're not even trying any more.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre Both of them. Biggest. Disappointment. Ever. Everyone acts like it's THE movie to watch and I got bored 10 minutes into them.

The Exorcist Why was everyone so afraid of this movie? Why is it classed as the scariest horror of all time? No. Just.. no.

That's my list for now. I'm really difficult to please when it comes down to movies.

I watched Dr Strangelove this weekend. THAT is one weird movie.

I'm gonna have to watch it again sometime, just to get through a couple of "WTF?" moments, of which I assure you there are a lot..

I admit, for me, the highlight was finally seeing where that whole "dude riding the A-Bomb to the ground while waving a cowboy hat" scene, that gets parodied over and over again, comes from.

Everyone says it's a good movie, so I should like it. Right now, it's just too weird for me to like. I'm-a watch it again before I decide for sure.
