Critics panned it, most hardcore fans complained that it ruined the series, but I quite enjoyed it. (and I am a pretty hardcore fan) Most of the casting was spot on and it introduced a couple of interesting new ideas.

Yeah! I thoroughly enojyed it myself. And, hey, you diss it, you diss the master. Douglas Adams actually wrote up a script before his death; much of it was adapted straight from his screenplay.

I thought it was kind of pointless, so I should read the book. It was funny though, and funny movies automatically go to the top of my list.

Movie that we saw recently: Hoodwinked. People say that it was stupid and the animation was bad, but It was hilarious, there are too many jokes to laugh at. :twitchy:

Edit: aww man, the smiley didn't work.

The main thing I disliked is that they had to go and add a romantic subplot that was completely nonexistant in the book.

The Nightmare Before Christmas. I love it. But other people don't. This is the same for Corpse Bride and Klayworld: Off the Table. Maybe they have a thing for Claymation...

Star Wars. I love star wars. I mean episodes four, five and six.
Lots of people I know don't like it. They should.

I hate the singing in it that's all. And I love claymation. That brings me to Wallace and Gromet, which was pretty funny, but some people hated it.

"Other people?" I've never met these supposed "other people." Man, I can't go a day without seeing Jack Skellington's face on a T-shirt or bag or jacket somewhere...

I came very close to buying a bargain basement copy of 'Nothing but Trouble'. It is a truly stupid film, and yet...

Dang, I'm huntin' through the wrong box then. Most of the movies I find are usually utter crap.

And seeing two grown women fight over a copy of Baby Geniuses is...scary. -Krazed Squirell

Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie.

I guess you don't know a lot of preppy, anti-goth types then....but personally, I do love that movie to death, and used to watch every other day when I was five.

I see that stuff at my school, but I don't see it every day. It's more of a Napoleon T-shirt kind of thing.

For me...it's Melinda And Melinda. I really liked that movie, but pretty much everyone seems to hate it.

Who are these people? You're one of the first people I've seen who's even heard of that movie. (I hated it :P)

Eh, people in general. I saw it on an airplane...there wasn't much else to do, but I found myself enjoying it.

On the topic of The Nightmare Before Christmas: Whoever said that they didn't liken that film must have spent some time in a mental hospital. I can't walk an inch in my town without a person passing by who was dressed in a Jack Skellington sweater. But it was a great movie.

As for Hoodwinked: I loved that movie as well. Positively hilarious. It was no Pixar film when it came to animation, but I thought the "Red is Blue" scene was just beautiful.

Watching TV last night reminded me of another one: The original Princess Diaries. Critics hated it. I thought (and still think) it's a positive riot. What can I say? Anne Hathaway is very amusing, and Julie Andrews makes everything better. She really does look the part of a queen. And I sympathize with clumsy, unrefined girls because--heck, I AM a clumsy, unrefined girl.

And another one: I have a soft spot for the Super Mario Bros. movie. Nothing to do with the games? Yeah, but still. Goombas dancing in an elevator!

The Mario movie was the worst movie ever. Movies based on games are worse than games based on movies.

Has anyone seen Date Movie yet? It is hilarious, and it makes fun of so much stuff.
Maybe in order.
1. Napoleon Dynamite
2. Hitch
3. Pimp My Ride
4. Star Wars 3
5. The Bachelor
6. Along came Polly
7. Meet the Parents (or Fockers, can't remember)
8. Mr. and Mrs. Smith
9. Kill Bill
10. Dodgeball
11. Wedding Crashers

There might be more, but I can't remember.

Metacritic has Date Movie with an average rating of 10...

...out of 100.

Not to mention it's only 70 minutes long (pre-credits). No way am I paying eight bucks to see a 10/100 movie that's barely an hour long.

However, some of the critics' snippets on Matacritic are pretty funny:

TV Guide wrote:
The choice is yours: Shell out 10 bucks for this dire spoof of recent romantic comedies a la "Scary Movie" and "Not Another Teen Movie", or toss your 12-year-old nephew a quarter and get him to act out scenes from his favorite movies for 80 minutes: The entertainment value will be about the same.

Toronto Globe and Mail wrote:
Date Movie is a good date movie in one sense: If you're still speaking to the person who brought you to see this, you just might have a future together.

New York Daily News wrote:
"Comedy is hard," said Steve Martin. For the writers of Date Movie, it's apparently impossible.

New York Post wrote:
It's rated PG-13 because 13 is the maximum age of those who might find it funny.

Look at the title of the forum:

I shouldn't like this movie, but I do.

I still reccomend it, for those who like comedies and recent movies that just came out.

The biggest one I can think of right now is Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. I freakin' love that movie, but it seems that everywhere I go, there are haters. OI. So lonely.

Well, I'll say to you (if it makes you feel better) that I do like looking at that movie. It's really fantastically animated. And I give it props for mentioning my city. Also, my dad seems to like it. So there, you're not alone!

I loved the Final Fantasy movie! It was hella tight [/TGS]

Has anyone ever seen Cartoon All Satrs to the Rescue? I enjoy THAT 'film' far too much for my own good. Anything that has the Muppet Babies informing me of the dangers of crack cocaine is awesome in my book.

Oh, Lordy Lou! Cartoon All-Stars! Many a rainy day at school was spent in the cafeteria watching that. Good times, I tell ya! Muppet Babies in general just plain ROCK. Gonzo forever, yo!

Yay, I'm not so alone, sorta! D:

I heard somewhere that some people don't like the FF movie much because the plot's a lot like a regular anime. Well... I don't watch a whole lot of anime, so that might contribute to my love of it. o.o I dunno.

But one of the other things was the artwork of the phantoms, and artwork in general, really. That was freakin' inspiring.

Oh, thought of another movie-- The Core. I don't love it, but I liked it alright. Seems to get a lot of bad credit, though. *sigh*

Maybe it's all because I'm a sci-fi nerd.
