Has your school ever done any activities or staged anything that was just cool? On Saturday, I was visiting a fair for a local school district, and I saw one kid wearing a T-shirt from his school's band. It said, "Cienaga High Marching Band Presents: The Music of Final Fantasy..."

I thought, YES. THAT IS PWN.

And the fact that their name is Cienaga makes it even better. ("Cien! Ceina! Cienaga!") Your school ever do anything really cool?

My school has an anime club. Does that count?

Your school has an anime club? Kick-awesome. oO We have a Japanese culture club and to my knowledge all they do is sit around and talk about anime. And during the homecoming carnival they had some DDR machines set up. oo;

Well, while I can't think of anything off the top of my head that my school has staged or sponsored, my school's drama club got all Superior ratings and the only standing ovation at the Florida District III Thespian Festival for their performance of Star Wars: The Musical, which was written by a couple of bored guys in the 90's and was never really intended for performance.

On the same note, this spring's performance is Romeo and Juliet: Samurai Edition. Sounds awesome, huh? I'll give a full report after I've seen it, at the end of the month.

Anyway, my school...I see T-shirts and other wearables with the logo and name on it everywhere. Like, even on people who are too old to have been in high school when it was built in the 70s. It's creepy. Oo;

Quasi-toastpaint. oo;

Are you kidding me? My school blows. They are retarded and wouldn't have anything remotely cool like that.

One time my school had an assembly on hypnosis, which turned out to be one of the most hilarious things ever. I'll leave it to your imagination what a couple people did while under hypnosis to cause the administration to wish it never happened. :mrgreen:

How is any of that cool? I mean really? Anime, FF music tributes etc. are not very cool. More nerdy if you ask me (but what can you expect from band?)

I mean, we have a battlebot club at our school, and every single year, the seniors have a Knotts Berry Farm trip, we live in SoCal so it is close. We have an Anime club, but only the geeks go to that.

I just dont find Anime cool, like at all.

We have LAN parties here at my school, hosted by the local gaming club (called Lamar Gamers ["Lamar" being the name of our school])...they are overnighters, going from about 6 p.m. until about 6 a.m., with only $5 charge to pay for pizza and drinks. So, yeah--we get to sit around, share files, and play big multiplayer games like F.E.A.R. and Call of Duty 2.

Though, erm...I don't know if my school counts, because it's a university--not a high school or middle school--so we have more liberties...>>

I don't think its so much the fact that it's an anime club, but rather that the school hosts it (albeit in some sort of after school thing I'm guessing). I think that's what makes it cool. My old school never allowed anything that wasn't educational in some form even in after school activities. As for the FF band thing, anything that deviates from the generic Sousa tune is cool in my book.

All my schools sucked. The best High School had going for it was open campus lunch.

I lived 4 blocks away. -Krazed Squirell

O_O PWNAGE! *practically worships Nobuo Uematsu's work*

My school sucks, we never really do anything cool. xD Um... we do have a lot of nonsense assembalies, though. They'd gather people in the gym just for some stupid thing and then play a bunch of games and stuff, like matress racing and tamale eating contests. =B

The majority of people here are nerds and geeks, ergo geekery is cool. Those who aren't nerds or geeks, or geek-tolerant are a very sad minority here.

EDIT: Um, whoops. That should've said minority, not "majority." Heh hehh.

I goes to geek school, which kind of pwns on it's own. No idiots, at all. None. The biggest club is the Science Fiction and Fantasy society, of which I am a prominent member. We have an anime club too, which is part of sci fi this year only (there was some ancient schism) because of myriad difficulties.

My school has had to live concerts. One from two local bands and the other by some weird boy band called "The Standards". It was pretty grood.

My highschool was on a military base, and they were obsessed with football. The administration kept trying to derail our drama club. And, GET THIS, the senior prank had to be approved by said administration. Lamest school ever. However, I did make some good friends there.

Every other year, the Thespians at my school go to New York City for Spring Break to see a buncha Broadway shows. I went last year, & can't wait to go back. :mrgreen: Our drama club was voted Reader's Choice Best Stage Productions by the Aurora Sun-Sentinel just this past summer.

The upperclassmen get 3 days off next month 'cause the froshes & sophs have CSAP tests. Oh, and our robotics team has its own website: http://www.anonobots-1190.com/

One tim there was a concert for a fund raiser that was pretty promising...

But, it turned out to be all chicks doing a dance routine to mainstream pop hits and lip syncing. To top it off I got in trouble for smashing my guitar.

We have an anime club too!

(AND THAT IS COOL!)

We also had "Dress Up As A Fictional Character Day". Unfortunately, few people participated. Also, I spent a sizeable portion of the day explaining to people that I was dressed as Rya, NOT RAGGEDY ANNE.

We had a battle of the bands last year. It was pretty cool. You had the bands with talent, and your bands that you never want to hear again. FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

Although a lot of people left, because they are too stupid to realise what teenagers with a guitar will do.

People throwing underwear on stage, lead singers wearing the previously mentioned underwear, songs about masturbation, Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo (whith actions), other Bloodhound Gang songs (with actions). All in all, an awesome night

Do you remember that TERRIBLE band of mexican students, which made that song(which I think was a Beatles song) really bad? They couldn't sing in tune at all!

We had some guys come in this one time to teach us about medieval weapons. They brought all the weapons with them. Then they showed us how each of them were used by getting people from our class to come up and act out fight manouvres. I got to wear a chain shirt!
Then, at lunchtime, the guys proceeded to have a medieval battle with swords and axes infront of the school.

Were they called Living History?

Where do you live, man? 'Cause they went to my school. :eek:

Oh, I just remeber that my school was one of the first highschools to get a 3D printer. (It prints out a 3D model using yellow powder which is compressed together.)

We had that this year too. We always do stuff like that on spirit week, which is around Homecoming, which is in December.

Oh. My school has a video class. Total awesome. I'm in it. Me and five guys. Whoo. Fun. Really funny. We just taped our winter-type olympics--snow flake catching, snowball throwing, 'ice skating'. On the parking lot. Much falling in wetness. Fun. Not me though. And I won! Yay. But since the final three were just the three of us who had gloves, it wasn't that fair. Hehe. "I couldn't do my five triple flux quadruple bypass..flip." Fun stuff. Now we're gonna do some Power Rangers thing. The little kid in them surfaces. Hehe. They're talking about the episodes and stuff like they were on yesterday. So funny. I never watched it. I wasn't allowed, I think. Heh. Watching them try to do all these kicks and spins is hilarious. "Make my monsters grow!"

Um. Ok. I'll stop.
