About the whole condom balloon talk.
The other week, this kid at the table got a ton of condoms and anal lube, and things kinda got out of hand, and by the end of lunch, the table was covered in Astroglide and a couple of condoms.

[s]If you don't mind hurting someone, Astroglide is wonderful for pranks...
Just put a thin layer on a tile floor sometime.[/s] Actually, don't do that. Someone might break an arm or something.

We had some really immature students at my school that were all "condom prank" happy.

Someone threw one onto the floor during an assembly. The principal looked up at him and said "that's about the only use he'll ever have for one of those".

Laughter ensued. The site-based council was not amused. Fortunately, the students defended the principal. He ended up taking a better job somewhere else, though.

Our school just spent a bunch of money on security cameras to identify people in fights.

That's actually pretty smart. Very smart.

Waste of money. To identify people in fights... that's the stupidest part.

No it's not. Cameras can identify who was where when something happened. Take for instance the brawl from the Pistons-Pacers game from a few years ago. The Police used the cameras from the ESPN telecast to identify every single person in the fight. Granted something like that may never take place at his school, but it's nice to know that it's there.

Furthermore, knowing that your school can identify you in a fight will prevent you from actually having a fight in the first place.

Verdict: smart.

Now if the cameras were installed backward, that would be another story.

The whole camera thing:
Yeah, my school has them too. They're EVERYWHERE. They just installed them last year, and it was a little creepy at first, because it feels like someone is always watching you, but I've grown to completely ignore them.

They really are a great idea. I've only seen two fights since they were put in at the beginning of last year.

Very true. It's a deterrent. You wouldn't do something illegal when you know a camera's watching you, right?

Same thing here.

Man... You guys have stupid schools.

Not the camera thing, that's good. I mean, my school never does stupid stuff, and students never really do bad things.
Except the drug thing, my school is a bit famous for that.
Kids steal chemicals from the science labs.

Ironic. My school had cameras installed and now we seem to have MORE fights. Almost literally walked into one once.

Two years ago, this one kid in chemisty at my high school drank silver nitrate on a ten dollar dare.

He did it, and immediately threw it all up and needed to have the rest of it pumped out, meanwhile his upchuck was biohazardous material, so they literally brought in a hazmat team to clean it up. The kid (and the act of drinking chemicals of a bet) became the laughing stock of the school. All you had to do was bet someone ten dollars to do anything, and everyone would start laughing.

No one knows if he got his ten bucks, though...

Here's my gripe on that: Unless your school has 4000 students, you don't need cameras. People witness it.

Yes people will witness it. Normally other students, who often as not will lie about it.

It's is just a waste of money. It seems the number of fights has gone up. Everyone always makes fun of them.

Wow. Two bonehead things my school did today.

First, my English teacher puts blue tape around her desk and doesn't let anyone cross it no matter what. She does it because she's afraid that something will be stolen.

And since my science teacher retired in the middle of the week earlier this month, we have a 3rd straight sub this week. This idiot lady decides to show "An Inconvenient Truth" that documentary about Al Gore's presentation on global warming. I didn't agree with any of what Gore was saying, so I laughed at the movie. I got in trouble for it.

I went to school this morning.

Yep.

And some kids were talking about a bomb threat being written on the bathroom stall wall. I bdont know why people take bathroom stall wall stuff seriously.

Anyway, the threat was found last night, and the police and FBI already searched the building for a bomb. None to be found.

I found out from my friend jeremy that he was the one who wrote it. He's known for getting high in the bathroom, so think that might have been a factor.

Anyway, it's kinda funny hearing kids scared about a bomb threat when you know it was just your harmless retarded stoner friend.

Speaking of which, someone from my school sent a threatening email to George bush from school, and the next day the FBI arrested him

I love when that happens.

Someone near me made a "kill bush" post on a myspace. Same thing. Arrested next day.

The county requires that each school devote one class per day for one week at the beginning of the year to emergency procedures. We know that we will have a fire, lockdown, bomb, hazmat, and tornado drill that week - we just don't know during which period or in what order. It's actually kind of annoying because it interrupts class.

Last week, on Monday, the fire alarm malfunctioned and went off about five times after the initial sound, while everyone was still outside waiting for the OK to go in again. It interrupted about 16 Psychology experiments, affecting a total of 68 students, and causing all of the Psychology students to have to re-do their experiments. Today. I'm one of those Psych kids.

I don't think we've ever had a real emergency, though. I mean, the closest we've come is "heavy rains with lightning, so stay in your current class until we tell you it's safe."

Fix'd.

I love false lock-downs. If I was gonna get shot in a school, at least I'll be in a classroom of people to enjoy the spare time with. Unless I'm in the bathroom... that's another thing...

Ahah. Thanks. xD

My school has a few classrooms with their own bathrooms. Those have to be the worst places to be during a lockdown since they won't let you get up to use them.
