For me, it's the other way around.I agree. You can't stick your head under an opaque projector and change the color scheme to negative. Well, yes, there is that. If you have a small enough neck, though, and could cut a large enough hole, you COULD at least put your head in an opaque projector. Any that are still in use today are probably far too fragile for that, though. My 8th grade language arts teacher has one. Or had one, I dunno if she got rid of it yet. I should've asked the last time I went to visit her. |

Bury it in the middle of the assignment. Most teachers will read the beginning and end of a paper. Last year in Chemistry I definitely put the "Eating Five Batteries" Diagram on the front cover of a chem lab. |

Our school still has the opaque projectors (I think, at least - over here we call them 'overhead projectors' but I'm pretty sure it's the same). The school as a whole ain't so up-to-date. If it weren't for the fact that my History teacher constantly references Bush and Iraq, I'm sure my bus goes through a small time warp each morning. My home group teacher will yell at somebody for being seconds late to home group. That's seconds. They run in on the bell, and it's still a 50/50 chance they'll get away with it. |

Our school still uses overhead projectors. It's better than unnecessarily writing stuff up on the board, if you're too poor to buy cool new equipment. Which we are. |

Now, I'm a college man, now, so I wasn't there when this happened, but a good friend of mine relayed a story to me of what happened at my old high school last Wednesday. We have three floors and two wings. During one of the five lunches, our prinicpal came on the announcer and... um... announced that someone had anonymously called the school and reported that someone had a gun on the third floor, west side. This sent the school into a panic. Each class went into a lockdown, where they closed the doors and hid. One kid got so scared, he texted his mom a message saying, "By the time you get this, I will be dead." A S.W.A.T. team then entered the school. But they didn't go looking for someone with a gun. Instead, they went around to each classroom and pointed their fingers at the students and said, "Bang. You're dead." It turns out that the call was a police officer, and the entire thing was to test our reaction to an emergency situation. Needless to say, parents were outraged and angry at the school, even though it was really the police. |

Dictionary Says: opaque: not see-through; e.g. milk, cardboard. translucent: slightly see-through, frosted; e.g. waxed paper, a foggy window transparent: see-through; e.g. clear plastic or glass. There's a difference between opaque projectors and overhead projectors. Overhead projectors work by shining light through "transparencies," or sheets of clear plastic with words and pictures printed on them, and reflecting the resulting image onto a screen through the use of a mirror. Conversely, opaque projectors are slightly more complex. It's a system of mirrors and light that allows images of ordinary sheets of paper (as in opaque paper, not transparencies) to be projected onto a screen. Lemme see if I can find a pic...
Overhead projector.

Wow, if that were to happen at my old highschool, there would be *so* many lawsuits, the lawsuits would be having little baby lawsuits ^^;; Also Rhin, which college you be going to? |

When we get back, My school is gonna send out a newsletter talking about Jenkem, and for parents to look out for it. You know why? Because I e-mailed the principle copypasta saying I was a concerned mother who found her son and his friends high on it in the backyard. Lulz will ensue when he says "Butt Gas" over the intercom next monday. |

Heh. My school got really angry over hardly anyone wearing ID's, so they told the teachers over the announcements to look at everyone, check for ID's, and make the kids who weren't wearing them get Saturday School. A few minutes later, the same voice crackled on with "Don't try to send them to the office to get a temporary one, we have a person to stand and watch." My class erupted with laughter. |

At my middle school, our then-new principal & vice principal used the earthquake bell as a signal at lunch for students to go outside. We only had 24 mins. to eat lunch and go outside. People who stayed in (other than those who had a legitimate excuse) had to pick up garbage and do other tasks. Another new rule was that people who were late 5 times had to get a notice signed by parents to notify it, getting kids into trouble with them. 10 lates and they got detention. 15 lates might mean suspension. I don't see why suspension could be a helpful solution, as the student didn't do any harm. It also gives the (vice) principal(s) a hypocritical image, as the student can't come to school and the problem is relating to attendance. I'm thankful I'm at a school with no ridiculous rules now. |

Now this is interesting. We can't say "Holy Crap" w/ out the constant fear of SUSPENSION!!! I mean, I understand why "Holy" isn't allowed, but "Crap?" Thats just stupid. What are they trying to do? Make us say the curse word variation? I'm pretty sure my school is also trying to get us to say "Awwww, Excrement!" which is completely dumb because over 1/2 of the whole school has no idea what excrement means! I'm typing this on my Wii, btw!
I AM SORRY FOR THOSE SMILIES! |

Lulz will ensue when he says "Butt Gas" over the intercom next monday. I did that too, but the principal just replied by asking me to meet with him IRL. I bailed out. I wrote my own email of course, because copypasta got some other people found out when the schools sent copies of these emails to each other. |

oh my god, sometimes i belive that teachers are the least choherent (if i spelled that right) species on the world anyway i have a story for ya it was about a year ago, there was a school dance and my sister was very exited because she gets to hang out with her best friend....and crush. little did we know, that 4 PEOPLE were RUNNING in the GYM "irresponsiply", probably due to the fact that, it wasent gym for anyone. anyway, so the devil on earth, my princeipal, ms. laruetti heard of the problem and at about 1:00 she claimed over the intercom, "due to 4 people running in the gym "irresponciply" we have cancel the dance for all of you, this will make you think twice before you act" she is the meanest human (or whatever the heck she is, i cant tell, she is so darn ugly)being in the world. i mean, why not just ban the dance for the 4 people? NO the freaking little demon cancelled it for all of us, my sister was balling her freaking eyes out for the rest of the week and wanted to hurt ms.l badly, and i didnt blame her. at least it wasent all bad, because after that event no body would talk to her again, they all just gave her a dirty look (i flipped her off while no body was looking and got away with it ) and my best friend and my sisters best friend all hung out and saw a movie. even better when summer vacation ended, ms. L was FIRED (rofl) saying that she did an unjust thing, and no body likes her anymore, so the super intendent dicided to fire her. oh and get this, ms. L got a job at my high school. but she has a very low paying job in there.
my point is, i think i topped your story kevin |
