Okay, I am typing on another computer, my parents', because my computer is acting weird. When I press the letter E, a files window pops up and dosen't even let me type e. When I press I, microsoft narrator turns on, and when I press L, my user just logs off completely! Is this something that you can fix, like make it so F9 or something makes it so a window pops up instead of with the letter E, or is it a virus? I could use some computer expert help too. |

It sounds like your Ctrl key is "stuck." I remember this happening back in Win95/98 a lot. Try pressing your Ctrl key a few times. If that doesn't fix it, disconnect your keyboard and plug it back in. Rebooting might help. |

Well, being a nerd, It's my dutey to rub my knowlage in peoples faces. Well, this is kinda weird, but I, knowing how to program, don't know how to fix it other than finding some way to controll keyboard [s]short cuts[/s] shortcuts. |

You could try turning off the Keyboard short cuts. |

Definitely sounds like a stuck key. I'd advise rebooting, and if that doesn't fix it, then go for unplugging and replugging your keyboard. Also, make sure your keyboard isn't physically dirty, something may be screwing up the electrical contacts. |

Come to think of it, it would be pretty easy to write a program that simulates a stuck key... /me runs off to test |

Turning off shortcuts was suggested by Mr. Kiss. Anyway, it works now, but I don't know what done it. Thanx to you all. |
