Hey, I'm trying to hook up my PS2 but I can't figure out what to do. Any advice? Tips? Help? Guides?

Thanks.

Does it have the plugs for the RCA adaptors?

If you have a TV manufactured in the last 4-5 years, you should be able to just hook up the cables to the matching-colored RCA jacks (red and white for sound, yellow for picture), then turn the TV to one of the "A/V" settings, which will be accomplished either by pressing a "A/V," "Input," or "Line-In" button on your remote or tuning to channel 2 and then going down a channel or two.

If you have an older TV that only has one jack in the back (the kind that matches the cable TV jack on your wall), you'll need to buy an RF adapter. In that case just go to Radio Shack or Best Buy and explain to them that your TV only has a coaxial jack and that you need an adapter to plug in your PS2. It'll cost you between $15 and $40.

Ok, but what if the TV doesnt have the slots for the cables, but the VCR does?

You can probably route it through the VCR, like so:

Code:
P------V\
S------C-+------TV
2------R/

Basically, you hook the PS2 to the VCR, set the VCR to channel 2 or whatever makes it accept input from that connection, and then connect the VCR to the TV.

Yep, though I've found that most VCRs have an "A/V," "Input," or "Line-in" mode for this. Unfortunately I've also found that many VCRs also only have two RCA jacks, yellow and white, which means you don't get stereo sound. :poop: But it's definitely cheaper than buying an adapter.

If you do plug it into your VCR, you might need to press the TV/VCR button for it to work.

Well there might be a button on the front of the VCR for it (some VCRs have a little panel that flips down to access more buttons). If not, you could try getting a universal remote, but sometimes those don't have all of the buttons your original remote did, and at that point you're probably better off getting an RF adapter.

The white and yellow go in, and I can get the sound, But no picture on the VCR. And I even turned it on. So at least I'm THAT far.

Help?
