Same thing happened to me, but I got it to work somehow... i think I changed which program it should open in, but I don't remember to what. Go into the properties and look in the programs it can be opened with, there might be one that sounds obvious. Sorry I can't give any more help. |

That happened to me with Sim Ant and Ski Free. =/ I'm using XP, too. Seems to just be happening with my older games, is what you're using old, too? |

It's because Windows XP doesn't use DOS. It uses its own thing that's like DOS, but even suckier. Most DOS programs don't work with it. Get Windows 3.1

Weird, the SimAnt I have is Windows XP compatible. You can find it used on amazon.com. |

Even weirder is that Snakes on a Plane has NOTHING to do with this thread.. TOASTPAINT For those of you who want to play DOS games there's always DOSBOX. Using it isn't completely straightforward, so I sugeest downloading one of the frontends that are available on the downloads page, too. ...and READ THE DOCUMENTATION.. |

Oh yes, DosBox <3 If there's a DOS game that won't run on my computer it will most likely run under DosBox. However, you should have a lot of memory and a relatively powerful CPU if you want to play some newer DOS-games because the emulation process requires a lot of memory. |

Looks like something's mucked up with your NTVDM settings. You'd have to edit the AUTOEXEC by hand. In other words, get DOSBox and make your life simpler. |

Not that I suppose you're actually going to read the whole thing and follow all of the steps, but here's Microsoft's guide to fixing this error, which happens to be the second result when you type the text of the error message into Google, by which I mean with a simple Google search and a little patience and you could have had it fixed four days ago. |
