I didn't understand that at all.

Well, it's almost over, soon people will be logging off and in four hours and ten minutes, no more pi.

Oh! We always used to celebrate pi day in high school. Pie was had, of course. Except one of the math teachers didn't really like pie, so cake that was decorated like a pie was brought in.

Those were the good old days. I doubt it'd get even an honorable mention at my uni, but then again it's difficult to call as we're on spring break this week.

What bothers me about Pi, though, is that it's supposed to represent a ratio, but it's irrational. An irrational number has no component fraction therefore cannot be a ratio... *scratch head*

There's nothing in the definition of ratio that says it has to be equivalent to a fraction. To quote Wikipedia, "In number and more generally in algebra, a ratio is the linear relationship between two quantities." Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. C and d are both quantities, ergo Pi is a ratio.

anyway...I totally forgot it was pi day until second period. Then I just drew the pi symbol on my hand and forgot about it. I'm gonna make a pi-dye shirt and wear it next Pi Day. Or possibly European Pi Day. Because that's sooner.

Now I just need some contact paper and a tie-dye kit...

Random off-toastpaint sort of thing: You know how I remember pi's approximation? Because of a taling circle creature in Donald in Mathmagic Land. Does anybody remember that cartoon? Man, that was frikkin' awesome.

I really loved that cartoon when I was younger. We watched it on the last day of Geometry last year. Most people thought it was lame, but I still liked it.
