Maybe because you guys were too old for it when it came out. I was like four or five when it came out, so I could appreciate it. |

I thought it was all right. I mean, looking back, it was rather lame that it followed the same format each episode: 1. They find out about a monster who is going to attack...some place. 2. They fight the monster and a ninja horde. 3. The monster gets big. The Power Rangers get into a crazy giant robot. 4. [s]Hilarity[/s] Battle ensues. The monster explodes. 5. Happy fun time. Although...the fact that Richard Horvitz does the voice of the robot elevates it all the way into the "fairly decent" category.

The first one was cool. Then they made like 18 spinoffs. Then they made a bunch more. Nowadays, its like each week there's a different spinoff that has like 2 episodes... Boo hiss! |

I know, they sucked! I think they all suck now, but the spinoffs all especially sucked. I liked the dinosaur idea of the original. How come the costumes suck, you'd think they'd make something better than those stupid Japanese-esque costumes whose lips are moved by a puppeteer or don't move at all. |

Samurai Pizza Cats was my favorite show ever when I was younger... It's what got me into anime. |

No. The villians were odd, very odd. I adored it though when Megas XLR did a parody of it. |

BEST. SHOW. EVER. Richard Horowitz (voice of Zim, Billy from Billy and Mandy, etc.) was the voice of Alpha. Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it for a while. |

Hey now, only Stu gets to call me that. Also, what the heck did you do to it? On the left, the image I posted. On the right, your avatar. Note the nasty artifacts around the text. And everywhere else. Jibbleh. |

Aw! Power Rangers! I didn't like it too much as a kid, only because my brother was obsessed with it. I thought it was lame. But looking back on it, it was harmlessly lame. I DID like Rita Repulsa, she was completely crackers. It's amazing she was even considered much of a threat at all because for the most part, she just yelled and screamed, and her cronies were awfully incompetent. Then she inexplicably married the head-villian that replaced her (Was his name Zed? ) and the rangers jumped the shark...

I first remember watching it on Fox when I was about 7, and now I'm 19, so it's been here quite a while. I don't even think many kids watch it anymore but they still keep dishing seasons out like hotcakes. Sadly, I do think there will be Power Rangers when I'm 60. |

I was about the same way as pianoman. When it first came out I was right on the edge of being too old to watch it. It was still fun, but just something you didn't tell your friends about. Of course, they were probably all doing the same thing.

Power Rangers was an awesome show. And the further incarnations (particularly Zeo and In Space, until they killed Zordon. Then it just died altogether. Turbo wasn't that good) were all right too. But nothing rocked more than the originals. Every boy in my second grade class (save two, but including myself) was the Red Ranger for Halloween that year (although, personally, I always preferred the Blue Ranger). An' I still have all my action figurers an' such. =3 I can still name the original cast of Rangers and their actors. |

Yeah, I'm in the same category. I think I made my dad take me to see the movie when it came out... when I was 13.

Windee wrote: Then she inexplicably married the head-villian that replaced her (Was his name Zed?

Rita was always THE BEST, though. A Japanese actress with her voice dubbed over... pretty fricken funny, if not a tad limiting. The Green Ranger was hot. Rawr. And they still show reruns and new eps on Toon Disney (...is it a cartoon and I wasn't aware of it?) I still try to catch a couple of eps from each new series. I love kids shows and animation, so I give everything a try. Aside from the male rangers getting exponentionally hotter, not much has changed. |
