on the contrary, my dear fatson, its special, cool, and i likes it, and as far as the simpsons movie goes, just take a look at this:
From en.wikipedia.org:
Feature film
Talk about a possible feature-length Simpsons movie has been going on since the early days of the series. The episode "Kamp Krusty" was originally going to be a movie, but became a regular episode after difficulties were encountered in trying to expand the script to feature-length.
News website Corona posted a popular April Fool's Day hoax describing fictional plans for a live action movie in 2000[10].
Rumors were circulated on the Internet about a movie already being in development, but it was not until 2004 that any were confirmed. In that year, producers announced a theatrical movie is in the very early stages of development, and that it will not be released until after the series ends. With the series being renewed for a nineteenth season, an estimated premiere date for The Simpsons Movie was set for the summer of 2008. This was confirmed by 20th Century Fox on June 6, 2005. Just like the series, the movie will be animated (Matt Groening recently turned down a proposal to make a live action film based on the characters, as this would likely ruin the franchise and anger fans) and will star the six main voice actors: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, and most likely Marcia Wallace, Maggie Roswell, Pamela Hayden, and Tress MacNeille. It is speculated that there will also be guest stars appearing in large roles or cameos. IMDb has also created a page for The Simpsons movie[11], and claims a release date of November 2008, while Yahoo! Movies reports that The Simpsons Movie will be released in 2007[12].
In early March 2006, an opening sequence filmed with live actors appeared on the Internet. The clip originated from Sky One and began being broadcast on television a few weeks later. There was some initial speculation that the clip was a portion of a forthcoming live action Simpsons movie; however, it was eventually revealed that it was an advertisement created by Sky One[6]. The fact that the clip is overtly British also helped deaden this speculation; the cars have British-style license plates, and (except for Homer's) are driven on the left side of the road with the driver's seat on the right. This clip was actually used as the opening sequence for Episode 17x15 Entitled "Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife" broadcasted March 26 2006 on Fox. The only connection between the use of this opening sequence and the episode is that the opening sequence is British-made and the episode was written by British comedian Ricky Gervais.
