anyone here geocache, i wasnt sure if this was abp'd, so i thought i might as well start a thread, any way, geocaching is a hobby-sport of sorts where you can go out with a gps, hides a container of trinkets or treasures, then go on the web to post the coordinates and other people can find your cache

I always wanted to get into this sport, because I love wilderness and hiking and biking and all that stuff. Although, I don't have a GPS guy thing, so I can't really participate. I have a few friends that do, though.

yeah i tried it once while i was backpacking in new mexico. as if i needed extra stuff to do on that hike. it was pretty fun, and we just had to try to go on short hikes (usually to VERY inconvenient places) in order to get to the coordinates. i think we failed to overall challenge due to fatigue or something though. the hike was like a week long and there were something like 5 or seven coordinates. didn't sound bad but all we did was hike all day so extra hiking during downtime was not my bag.

Yes! I love geocacheing! or is it geocaching, or geocashing? Gah, whatever it is. I love getting travel bugs and whatnot.
