If this isn't in the right place, move it.

I recently found a place where you can play Old NES and SNES Games on your computer. This is great for all those people who love Mario Bros. but can't buy it.

Play Mario Bros. 3 and other games here

I'm pretty sure that's illegal, but what do I care? I actually own SMB. It just doesn't work.

EDIT: [s]I clicked when it told me to. Nothing is happening![/s] Oh, I see. Now it's stuck on the World 1-1 screen. I'm playing SMB1, by the way.

Illegal Indeed. Unless you own the original copy.

Shut up. :P

And yes, I knew that too. It said so on one of the emulator program disclaimy things. Apparently, it's only legal if you "dump" or whatever the ROMs yourself. This isn't quite the same, but Teh Ruelz probably still apply.

But nobody really cares. :P

My friend has SMB3 on his computer. I still play it the old fashioned way. He can save the game though....I still win.

buying the orrigional games is harder, because the Cartridge pins that you push down when you insert the game, they get pushed down and dont work anymore.

theese things go slow on my comp.

I recently bought Xevious, Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, and Super Mario Bros. 3 for my NES. I haven't had any problems with any of my games. It's pretty easy to find most of 'em.

I like to play old NES games on my NES. Isn't it weird that the NES has a better framerate than an emulator on modern PC's?

Fortunately, since the patent has expired on the NES's design, third party companies now can, and do, release their own NES systems. I really want one of these. Ol' Nessie's on her last legs at my house. Their controller design is weird though, I'd probably just use my own controllers.

It's the SNES design that came in the later NES series mixed with a wierd D-Pad. I'll stick with my ugly block-shape. I'm in the same boat as DG, I have my origianl NES but after nearly 20 years, I'm afriad it's going to crap out on me.

If you can find a working NES (or the 3rd party alternative) buy it.
Pawn shops (around here at least) still sell loads of NES games at about 2 bucks a piece if less, and those suckers are nigh impervious to damage. I found my copy of MegaMan 2 buried in an alley. It still works fine.

The better alternative is to find a game shop that sells used games that have been pre-tested by the staff to see if they are in working order.

As soon as I saw this, I knew it was illegal. A couple of my friends have things like this, but I refuse to take part in it.

Which reminds me, I don't use it, because I'm sure it is illegal, but, all of the kids at my school use Limewire, that is illegal right? Cause lots of people always tell me to download it, but I refuse, cause, I think it's illegal...

Probably because it's generated some discussion of actual legitimate NES stuff.

Yeah it's illegal.

Why haven't they been shut down yet? Hasn't the government heard of this? Or someone who can stop it?

Maybe Nintendo is currently making enough money off those titles for it to be a concern/notice. I really don't see the harm...

I think he ment limewire.
I'm guessing it's not their top priority right now to do something about it, either that or thier in cahoots with the government(crazy conspiracy time!).
