At two minutes and three seconds after one-AM of April fifth, 2006, it will be 01:02:03 04/05/06. (It may already have been this time in your time zone.)

Just thought I'd point that out. This happens exactly once every 100 years. (It last happend in 1906.)
Those of you who belive in numberology may now go crazy with the nutbar theories and rampant speculation.

She was in the middle of explaining factorials or some crap like that, and just gasped and said: "You guys wanna know something cool? Tonight, well, tomorrow really... at 1:02 AM and three seconds... it'll be 01 02 03 04 05 06! It'll be the last time this happens in our lifetime... Unless you plan on living another hundred years."

She's cool. I'm still awaiting the moment over here... I'm trying, anyway. I only have one class tomorrow, and don't work till evening, so I can do it!

Well, I guess it could be, unless you're going by military time. You know, then it'd be 13:02:03 04/05/06.

That is pretty awesome though. Too bad I was alseep.

Ahh - this moment won't happen until the 4th of May on this side of the Atlantic. 'Cos we write our dates as "day/month/year".

Someone in school mentioned that it's 4/5/06 today, but I didn't really care. 01:02:03 04/05/06 is a bit cooler, though.

This thread reminds me of when one of my friends kept going on and on about how the world is going to end this year. 06:06:06 06/06/06.

I'm nervous now.

If you want extreme rareness in numeric convergence, you'll have to wait until 01:02:03, 04/05/6789 (in the year 6789).

There's also a bunch like that (only reversed) that occured (or will occur) in the 1st, 4th, 43rd, and 432nd centuries. But not the 4321st century, since there's no smaller number than zero.

Not only that, but that convergence happens every century. So why didn't the world end in the 19ths century at 06:06:06 06/06/1906?
I can do the same thing for 18 other centuries. Let me just check if the world ended in any of those other centuries.
:looks out the window:
Nope, we're still all here.

I just point these convergences ou becasue they're fun little mathimatical curiosities. they really have no signifigance ouside of pure mathemetics... and these aren't even all that mathematicly interesting!! they're justy very accesable to the layman, thats all.
I'd like to remind everyone that time is both fluid and completely analog. That is, time is a fundemental aspect of the fabric of reality. It cannot be divided into chunks, but we humans insist that our little clocks and calenders do just that. They don't; we just think they do.
Want proof of this? Ok, get on a rocket ship that moves at near of the speed of light. Even 1/4 of the speed of light will do. Ride it to the nearest star, and then back again. When you get back, your watch is going to be SOOOOOOOO very behind what the clock on the earth will be showing, even if yours is mechanicly/electronicly perfect. That's becasue of what Einsten called General Relitivity and Special Relitivity. This has beeen proved with extremely precise instruments that have been shown to loose time when they otherwise shouldn't have becasue of exposure to reletivistic paralax.
The point is: Time itself is but an illusion, and our measurement of time is but a facade. It's still fun playing with the numbers, though.
If you'll ecuse me, I'm gon try building a time machine with a Game Boy, a blender, and a wireless mouse.

They think that? Wouldn't it have already ended on the year 666?!

Well, I was gonna wake up for it...but then I realized I didn't care. :p

No, I was just tired and burned out, so I figured I needed the sleep. Although pretty kool, not really a big deal to me. I'm not hitting myself for missing it.
