Animation is turns 100!

This month is animation celebrates it's 100 anniversary!
In the april of 1906, James Blackton made the animated short "Humorous Phases of Funny Faces".
Though, it was not exactly the first animaion, it's the one that would later inspire more cartoonists to become animators, so it's kinda more the anniversary of the modern animation industry.

Wow, it sounds incredibly tedious to animate by filming states of a drawing on a chalk board, I thought for sure the drawing would be a series of paper images filmed.

It went from that to now they have some 3D animations. Not all cartoons have been a success, but some have, including Homestar Runner. There will surely be another 100 years worth of animation to behold.

Anyway, I know I would have crushed spirits without cartoons. Happy 100th to animation. Lets see if we can reach a senquentenimal milestone.

Well before that(circa 1860-) there were flip books and Praxinoscopes, by this I mean professional animation, I'll change it. <also toasts>

Do video games count as animation? I read in Wired magazine that they are trying to make the character actually act it out. I think it should count.
