TELL WHAT U THINK are underrated songs.

Green Day: F.O.D. and Homecoming, F.O.D. for it's rebellion, and Homecoming for its musical style: 5 in one. 409 in a coffeemaker for the awesomeness and comingness of Green Day to be future superstars.

Blink 182: Anthem part 2, it is very awesome. Story of a lonely guy, its music rocks and it reminds me of a friend who died. And Dumpweed, because its riffs rock and it is a theme of mine.

Nirvana: Territorial Pissings, it rocks out loud because of the riff and it sounds so cool.

Queen: Spread your Wings, it shows some of my longing to escape my parents, and the world.

AC/DC: Have a drink on me, kill me because I'm a party animal.

Goldfinger: Stalker, it's hilarious! Wasted, it describes me so much.

Weird Al: The truck driving song, nobody else likes it, and I think it's hilarious.

Okay, your turn. Ready set go!

Yay for The Truck Driving song! But I'd have to say When The Levee Break by Led Zepellin. That is my favorite song on that album.

Isn't When the Levee breaks a hit?

I'm kinda looking for non-hit music. Music that wasn't a hit.

Yeah, after I posted that I realized I wasn't alive in the 70s and wouldn't had know if that was a hit or not. But that song rocks anyway. :poop:

...And Justice for All by Metallica. This song is overshadowed by One, but it is just as good of a song.

I know this is Underrated Songs, but this album is worth noting.

Animals by Pink Floyd. This album is over-looked because of the other Pink Floyd albums that surrounded it. Animals came out after Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here and it came out before The Wall. This is an underrated classic. The songs on here are just as good as those on the other three.

My dad ADORES that song! I love it too.

In my opinion...Ondine by TMBG.

LISTEN. IT'S AWESOME.

And, to an extent, The End of the Tour. John Henry as a whole is rather underrated...it pwns so hard.

I think that Kiss From A Rose by Seal is VERY underrated.

I think it's funny when people use the word "underrated".

To me, this says, "I know this is great, but the rest of the doofballs in the world don't appreciate it because they're uncultured and stupid."

Makes me laugh.

XO, Fall Out Boy. The rest of their songs are RAD but the only things you ever hear are Dance Dance and Sugar We're Going Down. They really are a solid band, and those two songs sound NOTHING like the rest of their stuff.

And also, anything by Jack Johnson before the Curious George soundtrack.

Do CD-only songs that never had a single count as hits? Because I've got one.

The song "Defeat You," by Smashmouth. It's on their Astro Longue CD. I really wish it'd been a single, because it's awesome. It has this great, action-movie sound and feel that can only be described as swank. That, and the lyrics are pretty cool.

Quote:
It's the instinct that's got us locked up tight,
And it's the madness that's keepin' us up all night...

But I just dig Smashmouth in general. </dork>

I feel like posting the lyrics for "Defeat You." So here you go.

[quote]Born is a human with a kung-fu spine,
Equipped with a detector of what's on your mind,
You jive, you shuck, you bob, you weave,
And when you're down you've got something up your sleeve
And you've got it good, as bad as it gets,
You make your own incisions that come with regrets,
You're in it to win it and make every minute count,
You put it all together and dish it out!

(chorus)
Heeey!
I know where you're from!
It makes it that much nicer to meet you,
Heeey!
I know what you've done!
It makes it that much better to defeat you!

All that knowledge, all those skills,
All the gas it takes to get on top of the hill,
And while the others try to take your spot
You wanna make 'em stop but you gotta make 'em stop
Would you do anything, whatever it takes?
Jacks in the road, yeah, fix the breaks,
It's the instinct that's got us, locked up tight,
And it's the madness that's keepin' us up all night!

(chorus)

It's what we are!
It's what we are!
It's what we are!

Born is a human with mechanics to win,
Combine machine with a human tucked in,
You jive you shuck you jab you stick,
You're callin' out for help when it gets too thick!
Your honor, your honor, it's not me
It's the invisible visible evil powers of me,
Untracable, instatiable, habit to feed, yeah
You cry when you're wounded and you laugh when we bleed!

(chorus)

(chorus)

It makes it that much better to defeat you! x3
It makes it that much better to beat you!

Dude, they have much better songs then that!
I happen to like Linkin Park and I think that is one of their worst songs.

Martha My Dear by the Beatles.
I don't know how many people like it, but I love it, even if it is by (egh)PAUL.
I don't even know why I hate him so much.

Well, that is part of why he considers it underrated then, isn't it? :P

Ugh... I can't even mention it.

And so true CT, so true. :p

Don't worry, Ch8t. You're not the only person that likes Linkin Park. I happen to think they're awesome!

I happen to think you're awesome for saying that. :p

Another song by Linkin Park I like: Session (No words)

Most of Frank Klepacki's production (well, mostly all the CnC tunes)
Music from old and even new videogames (even though there's a huge fanbase for game music, it's still very underground)
Kraftwerk (godfathers of electronic music, dang it)

All of the above are generally quite underground.

Dude, tons of people love Linkin' Park at my school. They say Green Day is retarded, and I still listen to them. I just wish that they had clean versions of their songs, because my freakin parents won't let me buy explicit music.

WHAT I THINK about Linkin Park:

Musically, they're pretty talented. I don't know what that one song is called--"In the End?" "It Doesn't Even Matter?" You probably know the one--but the opening chords are beautiful and haunting. And then the guy starts singing and his screaming sort of breaks the magic. So lyrically, I think they could use some work. :P That instrumental song, though, I'm bettin' is pretty good.

Can I throw out a vote for just about anything by Vangelis? I know some people consider it glorified elevator music, but trust me, listen to some Vangelis stuff beyond just "Chariots of Fire," and you will know the awesomeness. It's pretty good. I'm trying to remember the name of that one song by him that I like that's really good.

When in doubt, ask a CD cover. It's called "First Approach." It's very beautiful.

Now that rules.
Also: [Riff Raff] off Reanimation has no words and is really cool.
