Post subject:  Post Count Not Worthy

I feel as if I've been on the forum for quite some time now... and yet my post count looks monstously low compared to others....

How long have y'alls been here, and do you stay on this forum constantly? Am I still thought of as a newcomer? or not thought of at all?

The people with the high postcounts spend all day here. If you have a low postcount, it just means you have more of a life than other people. :P

(no offense to the high postcount posters)

Post count means next to nothing here. If there's any kind of noob/non-noob barrier, I'd say it's somewhere around 100-150 posts. Some of our best members haven't even broken 500.

You saying that I have no life? Well, you're right about that.

Going by the stats on the profile, you are working your way up the post count quicker than I am. And you've only been here like 4 months. Compared to me, you are totally a newbie. I've almost been here 2 years, and I'm still practically invisible. :)

To be honest I'm surprised that I have as many posts as I do.

And my post count is probably pretty accurate. In an effort to make myself do actual work, I don't let myself set foot in the Forum Games section anymore. If I get wrapped up in those things, I can kiss a couple of weeks of productivity goodbye. That's my guess as to why I'm not so well known on the forum.

*Ahem* Bloody right.

I've been here forever and my post-count still relatively low. And then there have been loads of newbies who have speed past me, post-count wise - like Kevin DuBrow, alberto, Mr Kiss and other people.

So nah, post count doesn't matter. It's the quality of your posts - or lack of - that get you noticed round here.

Huh? Who said that?

I'm so sorry, couldn't resist.

I have been here for a little over a year and a half. I used to care about my post count, but not anymore.

Yeah, I'm the most popular user here, and my post count is only a fraction of some of those losers everyone hates.

I mean - Everyone is equal!

I don't know who has the bigger ego, you or COLA?

In my experience the people who care about their post counts tend to have more spam than those who don't.

Yeah, like Captain M'lady! She has only like 300 and everyone knows and adores her.

Yeah, people with higher post counts frequent the forum, but high post count really means nothing. Who you are is the same, no matter what your post count is.

Same here. But I try not to reply if I don't think I'd have anything worthwhile to say.

But I'm reasonably impressed at the fact that I've almost broken 1000 posts! And I've only been here since December thereabouts. :P

I read the forum much more than I post. I only say something if it's worth being said. Usually. But I'm on a few other forums that I post on more than this one, and I'm only on the internet for about an hour every day.

Yeah, I've been waiting to congratulate (sp) you and Ju Ju master, you on 1,000, and him on 2,000.

But, I reply even if I don't think it's worthwhile to say, and I forgot, just to let you know, my favorite forum is "Getting To know you," because, that is another reason I post alot, I like to get to know people. :p

I used to post there a lot more, but since it's the last forum I generally visit, I've kind of randomly floated off. Time crunches do that to you.

I just get annoyed that no one is there and no one replies, so, I don't post there much, although, I want to :p

And Ju Ju Master did get 2,000 posts, I just PMed him

It took me almost a whole year to break 1000 posts... I used to spend a lot of time in Forum games, and when they started the A&C board, I started spending a lot of time there... that's probably why I took so long.

How's that a bad thing? Didymus posts in forum games a lot, and he's a mod!

Post count doesn't matter, you will see me in a year with like a friggin billion posts. Will that make me popular? Not really.

Heh, I always wait until the day I reach 1,000 posts. *puts up shield*

I actually think of post counts as a way to accomplish something on a forum (that is, if you don't spam). I remember when I hit 500 posts, it felt great to me, because there was so much build up to one milestone. So, in a way, I find post counts okay.

Though, I hate on how some forums people will be like:

My Post Count > Yours, or:

<registration date of someone> Go away, n00b.

Yes, viewing the IGN boards causes heart failure after a few months of time. :P
