Yes, we have two threads similar to this (Dumb Things You Thought As A Youngling and Movies You Loved As A Kid) but this is just for anything those things don't include. What video games or TV shows might you have liked? Any weird obsessions? Any fond (or not-so-fond) memories? Any Fruedian things to talk about? (IT WAS YOUR MOM WHO MESSED YOU UP IKNOWITIKNOWITIKNOWIT.)

Anyway, I had an obsession almost to the point of laughing with the Rugrats (which was an OK show, but STILL). And my favorite computer games were the classic adventure games for kids (this was when adventure games were still popular), Pajama Sam. (I still like those games. They've got a lot of surprisingly sophisticated humor that exists in other classic adventure games, as well as some actually kinda challenging puzzles).

Also, I was just WEIRD as a kid.

Anyway.

When I was younger, I had no idea of the concepts of "fan fiction" and "crossover." Yet, somehow, I managed to invent my own completely insane crossover universe. It was called the Knot's Crew, and involved the fifty children of a pair of phesants, only about eight of which were actual phesants. The rest of them were characters from whatever I liked at the time--the Muppets, Tiny Toons, "Yoshi" (I only had Tetris Attack and didn't know it was part of the Mario universe)--whatever. The main character was my avatar, a "Tasmanian bluebird" who had his own Chuck E. Cheese-like pizza place. The secondary main character was Raffelisia, a Raven from Yoshi's Island, and his sister. She was an excellent cook and had an absurd, mushroom-shaped orange hairdo. They interacted randomly with the other fourty-nine members, whom I could never keep in check. They were constantly changing, I think.

I also had a bizarre obsession with Kirby for a while. I even invented my own Kirby TV show, which, in retrospect, probably would've been a lot cooler than the actual Kirby TV show. Kirby actually talked, for one, and so did Rick, Kine, and Coo. My character was Jenny, a girl who accidentally got sucked inside the game a la Captain N and ended up gaining the power to inhale enemies and copy their powers like Kirby. She's actually still my Kirby character to this day...

But the best thing from my kidlettehood? The Glowdiators, hands down. I had a dream one night that I was a superhero who gained magical power from a crystal, and among those powers was the ability to... glow. Sounds stupid, I know, but to me, it was wicked sweet! I could travel from place to place by jumping through caramel-powered warp devices, and my enemy was a thoroughly evil turtle. I molded the Glowdiators to perfection over the years, giving them an animal sidekick, and even assigning unique power types. For a while, they were all girls, but I finally admitted male members in one of my recent nostalgia-tweeking spats. If anyone's curious, here are the members.

Sunbeam, the purple Glowdiator, with the Sun symbol and the power of fire (my avatar). Her main attack is the Fire Punch.
Heartbeat, the pink Glowdiator, with the Peace-Heart symbol and the power of radiation. Her main attack is the Laser Beam.
Thunderbolt, the orange Glowdiator, with the Lightning Bolt symbol and the power of electricity. Her main attack is the Lightning Kick.
Thornbush, the green Glowdiator, with the Rose symbol and the power of plants. His main attack is the Thorn Whip.
Undertow, the white Glowdiator, with the Shell symbol and the power of the sea. His main attack is the Coral Chop.
And finally, Turnover, the blue Glowdiator, with the Diamond symbol and the power of earth. His main attack is the Tetra Breaker.

They're each supposed to represent a "realm"--Cosmic, Atomic, Heavens, Life, Sea, and Earth.

...I actually still think the Glowdiators pwn. I've always kinda wanted to DO something with them. The backstiry I invented for them actually allows for lots of them, and my original dream had a ton of them... maybe some sort of RPG?

When I was littler, I used to make up and then play video games in my mind all the time. Just walk back and forth and daydream 'em up. Generally for the SNES, or computer racing games. I still remember some of them quite vividly.

Eep... there's this one racing game that I still remember a bit too vividly for my own good. >.>

Anyway, as a kid I would often watch Blues Clues. I only got the answer right a couple of times (it always turned out to be something weird, like "Blue wants to build a Romanesque chapel!"), but I always watched it.

As for Nick Jr. in general, classic Face was the bomb.

Um... I can only remember stupid, random things from my childhood, like one time in first grade, we were playing kickball in gym class, and one kid had kicjed the ball and their teammate who was on third base started to run home, but the ball was rolling towards him, and he picked it up and threw it back to the pitcher. Hehe. His team was so mad at him.

That would be so cool, if we brought it onto the forum. Like, you made a fanfic or something, and people signed up to be certain people, and you made those symbols for their avatars and junk.

Or, you could just form some kind of online club, where people sign up. I would totally sign up for that. There should be some kind of club on here. Unlike "Thee better ones".

Anyway, I remember that I liked way too many racing video games, especially Diddy Kong racing.

And I liked power rangers, (not frowned upon in the forum.)
And I liked these two kids shows, that one about certain animals and it was hosted by a CGI gecko, and the one that was hosted by that cartoon that looked like the Earth with a face.

I liked the Power Rangers.
I liked TV wrestling (yet again, my mom wouldn't let me watch it because she said it was too violent) and still do!
I remember someone bringing in Jurassic Park and asking if we could watch it (the first one, which I have!)

You know what kids show ruled? "Under The Umbrella Tree." From what I know of forumers, it was on before a significant number of you were born. It was about this lady (who, in retrospect with the help of a few old episodes on tape, dressed like a Japanese schoolgirl), who had a house built around a giant... tree. Her mandatory puppet sidekicks were Iggy the iguana, Gloria the gopher, and a blue jay... but I'll be darned if I remember his name!

I used to play with LEGO's all the time when I was a little 'un. Some of my best story ideas have origins in the tales I made up playing with LEGO's. That may be why I haven't had anything published yet....

Yeah. As a kid I made some crappy movies.

One was a movie with LEGO's featuring me and some friends doing crappy improvisation (everything was improvised, including -- some might say especially -- the plot), arguing about unimportant crap, and fiddling around with a camera that we didn't understand how to work.

And, the Plan 9 from Outer Space to my Edward D. Wood, Jr., "The Pickle Man".
