Post subject:  Lemony Snicket
I, personally, think that Lemony Snicket, author of the Series of Unfortunate Events, may be one of the best authors ever. Like, up there with Jane Austen and William Shakespeare. I just love his style, so incredibly original, and how he transforms the Baudelaire's personalities as they age throughout each book, slowly, slowly, slipping into villainy. The audience it's directed at (maybe 3rd graders or so) could never understand even a tenthof the clever references they throw in there. There are currently 12 books out right now, and there will be a 13th, as long as Lemony Snicket, the famous fugitive and author, is not captured and jailed by then. TWUT!

Sorry to spoil this for you, but Lemony Snicket isn't real - it's a pseudonym.(I think I spelled that right.)

But yeah, Dan Handler(I think he's the real author) is a VERY good writer.

I already knew that. I was just referring to him as Lemony Snicket because n00bs would get confused otherwise and n00bs aint cheap. And btw "its Nym! Nym! Psuedonym! Greek word for name! I'm tired of it!" - Strong Sad (but you already knew that didn't you, you sick geek :p )

I can't wait for the 13th book to come out. The Series of Unfortunate Events books are awesome. Too bad it's going to be the last one.

Yeah, I love Lemony! He has such a unique writing style, and I respect that. Though, he has built up quite a mystery with the first 12 books (especially if you've read the Unauthorized Autobiography) and I just hope that he can bring things to a satisfying, if morose, finish.

I've read all except the 2nd, 11th, and 12th. I have the twelth lying around somewhere, but I refuse to read it until I finish with the 11th one.

Violet is my favorite character.

I really like the books for the very deep and intricate plot. And the way Mr. Handler writes his books is very delicious.

I greatly anticipate the Beatrice Letters comming in September, and No. 13 on Friday the 13th.

P.S. HipHoppityFrogOfValue, I don't think the Baudelaire childeren where slowly become villians through out each book. Instead, I think their sudden turn at the end of TPP was because their hopes of anything good happening was begging to sink. Not to mention, if you where under the watch of a villian for over a year and a half, wouldn't you start to give in?

The movie was really bad. They made it too happy. I hope they don't come out with a sequel.
Yeah, the books are good. Not great (and not grood). I lost my interest in them as well as my interest in books in general when I had to start memorizing Arabic verses (don't ask). I used to be obsessed with them, and read 1-12 of the all the books, including the unofficial autobiography.

*They burned down the circus
*They killed Dewey Denouement
*They could have killed Olaf with the elevator thing when it was burning.
*They are basically gonna have to put up with Olaf's demands for a while whilst on the tiny boat.
*They are gonna get ticked at the world, go emo, and write heavy metal :p
Also, I have noticed that if the Baudelaires are ever released from their vicious cycle of misery and woe, Violet will probably marry Quigley. Why? Just look at the following quotes:


In this one, Violet and Quigley are seated on a mountain. This is not really an exact quote, but almost, and a quote with synonomous meaning.

It gives a brief summary of each book, and reveals twelve shocking secrets about Lemony Snicket. The thirteenth clue you must figure out with a code. Spoiler below for the answer!!!!!

A Series of Unfortunate Events was always planned to consist of 13 volumes. So, yeah, your guess about being * with the series is correct.
As evidenced by Daniel Handler's recent novel, Adverbs. The Basic Eight and Watch Your Mouth were written before ASOUE, and he took a big long break to finish that before getting back into adult fiction.

Yes, it's official: The Beatrice Letters may be the final key to unlocking the
series..of unfortunate events. It's coming in September, whereas book the thirteenth, The End, is coming out in October, on Friday the 13th.

Okay, first off....don't slap jews in the face. That, my friend, is called persecution. Secondly, it is definitely going to be called the end; I'll bet you fifty bucks. Here is proof. Look, they made an entire book cover of it, as you can see in the center of the page. It says "Look for book 13, The End coming out on October, Friday the 13th, 2006!" I mean, he might tease us in an interview, but, nah, he wouldn't put it up on an official site.

You do realize that that could not be the real picture at all, right? The text on that picture could easily be faked. The picture will probably remain the same, but you have to realize that changing the text would be really, really easy.

Secondly, it doesn't even fit what LS has done so far - all titles of the books have had mathcing phrases, as in "The Perilous Pit" or "The Tumbling Tower".

Dan Handler has fooled us before in book twelve - in fact, he made a fake cover just to throw us offguard, if I recall, and he made one for the new one not containing the picture - it probably doesn't even take a lot of work to make a cover, seeing as they all have the same template.

Third, it's really stupid to bet money on the internet. :P

P.S I think you're stretching that persecution thing a little...everytime I jokingly slap my jewish friend in the face I'm persecuting him?

Yeah. I know. Exactly the same. They started to really decline downhill after a while. I started to read the 12th, but it was the same and to childish. I absolutely hate about how he goes over the definitions of a word on one whole page/

Do you seriousloy listen? I said "JOO"! If you hang around on more internet forums, that means "YOU!" I never said the word "jew"! Maybe you should try actually reading my posts! Geez.

I actualy love how he goes over the definitions, personally. It's always funny to see a narrator get off track for a little while.
