Dilbert is good, but I'd take any of those three over it. You have excellent tastes toppy. :)

I have almost all the C & H books... terrific! But still not quite perfect!

I think it may be because of C & H that I believed as a youngling that I could communicate telepathically with my stuffed whales. ...But that's a different matter entirely.

I LOVE me some Calvin and Hobbes!

My favorite two strips;
1) Hobbes is telling Calvin that reading is important. He goes on to ask Calvin how many times he's going to brush his teeth with Preparation H.
2) The one where Calvin's dad explains how the sun sets.

As far as series toons go, I love "Revenge of the Baby-Sat"

Okay, I've read every comic, and I don't remember that one. Which book was it in?

I LOVE C+H! My dad apparently learned everything he knows from Calvin's dad. It's hilarious. And creepy.

COMICS THAT PWN (IN NO ORDER)

-Calvin and Hobbes
-Dilbert
-Life In Hell (MATT GROENING FTW)
-The Far Side

COMICS THAT SUCK

-Family Circus

...Anyway. I really like the ones where his dad teaches him about something like sunsets or color, and his lesson is completely insane. My dad does that a lot.

And the last one ("Let's go exploring!") was just so sweet.

Oh...and the snowmen! If I lived in a place where it snowed, I'd totally make snowmen like that.

Dilbert's good every now and then, but I'm probably not the demographic for a comic about a guy that works in an office. My three favorite comics go like this:

1) Pearls Before Swine
2) Calvin and Hobbes
3) Peanuts

Hobbes is my favorite C&H character. Then Susie.

Calvin and Hobbes...My favorite strip of all time.
Best ones-
1.Calvin and Hobbes
2.THat one...you know, with the two dogs and the guy..
3.Life in Hell(YA RLY MATT GREONING)
4.You can't go wrong with some Peanuts. Ever.

But yeah, Calvin and Hobbes are t3h pwnawesome. All the box stuff and transmogrifier stuff is the best.

Well, my favorite parts were the:

1. Onion play
2. The one where he gets sucked up in a balloon
3. The one where he gets Hobbes, "We're kinda stupid that way."

I just filled up my Amazon shopping cart with every C&H book. I can sacrifice a measly hundred bucks for fond memories of my childhood. ...

I'll tell you what though... that "complete collection" looks like a spine-snapper.

C&H PWNs Dilbert.

I LOVE Calvin and Hobbes. I learned how to read from the book collections. Fond memories, indeed.

However, Dilbert is awesome, too. I'm willing to bet that it's a lot more funny if you've actually worked in a cube-ville before. I have, so it's gut-bustingly funny.

1. Calvin and Hobbes
2. Dilbert
3. Get Fuzzy

no, wait. it's equal. i like dilbert (comic strip) for it's humor, but calvin and hobbes for its.........other humor. and philosophy.

Dude, my arms are still hurting from carrying around the Complete C&H over Christmas.

But it was totally worth it. C&H is the best comic ever. I've been reading it since I was a tiiiiiny little girl, and the same stupid strips, like the one with Calvin blowing his bubble gum all over his face, still produce the same reaction.

Calvin and Hobbes... is the
BEST
COMIC
EVER.

Seriously.
There's just nothing to dislike about Calvin and Hobbes. It's pretty sophisticated, and really hilarious. I always like the story in which Calvin duplicates himself. You gotta love the line "Scientific progress goes 'Boink'?". I even have the book by that same name.

And for future reference, here is the list of the TOP EIGHT COMICS OF ALL TIME in order!
1. Calvin and Hobbes
2. Bloom County
3. Life in Hell
4. Get Fuzzy
5. FoxTrot
6. Peanuts
7. Opus
8. Garfield

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. That's not right. Let me try again.
1. Calvin and Hobbes
2. Bloom County
3. Life in Hell
4. Peanuts
5. Get Fuzzy
6. Opus
7. FoxTrot
8. Garfield

That's better.

I partially blame my wierd outlook on life on all of the C&H and Far Side books I got a hold of at a really young age.

One of my favorite books is Yukon Ho! It's namesake (in which Calvin secedes from his family and tries to go to the Yukon) is one of my favorite C&H storylines.

Oh. Man. I love C&H. Ironically, the first book I ever read was the last one, "It's a Magical World." Since then, I've bought just about all of the other ones. Somehow, the humor seems to appeal to h*r fans...maybe it's the randomness of Calvin's imagination (Spaceman Spiff, dinosaurs, etc.) and all the interesting "inventions" he comes up with. Did anyone think of Calvin's inventions when they saw the sbemail "alternate universe"?

Anyway, the comic has a humor all its own...nothing can ever replace it. :) I love it to death!

Teh C.B.

Well, I admit. I lied. I forgot about somthing.
I havn't read every single comic.
I saved "Its A Magical World." I have it somewhere up in my closet. When I'm somthing like 30, I'm gonna read it.

Why do I do these things?
Because I'm a total freak.

Yeah. I just asked my two best friends (both of whom are huge Calvin and Hobbes fans and have read every book) if they'd ever seen that comic, and neither had.

Maybe it was one of the unpublished ones they released with the Ultimate Calvin and Hobbes?

"Revenge of the Baby-Sat!" is found in either the book of the same name, or the "Indespensable Calvin & Hobbes" collection.

My favorite C & H storylines:

1. The one where Calvin and Hobbes try to run off to the Yukon.
2. The one where they found G.R.O.S.S. and run his parents' car off into a ditch.
3. The one where they go to Mars.
4. The one where he gets his gravity reversed on him and then starts to grow.
5. Calvin's Magic Carpet.
6. And just about any one with Calvin's cardboard box.

Seriously. I need me one of those. My location even had me in the time traveling box once--I cannot tell you HOW many times as a youngun I tried to take my stuffed whales and use a cardboard box for something Calvin did. I never time traveled, sadly...

Oh. I also like the strips when Calvin breaks his dad's binoculars.
"Don't sneeze." Hehe.

I've done some paintings of Calvin and Hobbes. Watercolors.

It's actually cheaper just to buy the individual books, believe it or not. Plus, I like having each individual book.

You know Opus? It's when the characters are younger, and the series was a lot better. (At least in my opinion; I haven't read that much of Opus) That was the awesomeness that was Bloom County.

As for Life in Hell, are you a fan of Matt Groenig in any way? If so, you should know it.
