You said it wasn't an excuse to be a jerk. How come you're using it as an excuse to unreasonably bash me?!

Nonononono. She's not using Asperger's as an excuse to 'unreasonably bash you'. She's critizicing you for legitimate reasons. If she were saying something like "I have Asperger's, so I can't help that I'm insulting you", then she'd be using it as an excuse. But saying "You're wrong because..." and then giving reasons is not using Asperger's as an excuse. I don't have Asperger's and I could criticize you for the same reasons. What if that were the case? Could you still say I was using it as an excuse to bash you?

(the answer is no, by the way.)

Quote:
I Ace'd every Spelling Test I've had since 2nd Grade. Another piece of the puzzle to my Asperger's.

High intelligence isn't a 'piece of the puzzle', however you're using that -- it's not a sign of it, and it's not a cause of it. Asperger's is the name given to incidences of autistic disorders in which the sufferer has high intelligence (I know it's a bit less simple than that, but that will suffice for now). It's neither a cause nor an effect, so all bringing up your intelligence does is make it look like you're bragging.

Hey, I aced my Grade Nine advanced mathematics exam, so perhaps I have Asperger's, too, because as you're saying, high intelligence has something to do with a social disorder.

See, you can call that bragging, but it's the same thing you were doing, so saying that that would be bragging is admitting it yourself. So yeah, now that we all know it's Asperger's, leave intelligence out of it. You may find that some highly intelligent people will resent the suggestion that their intelligence means that they have a pathological disadvantage in socializing... You know, most of the bullies I've seen have that attitude. Thus, you've likened yourself to a bully in my mind. Touché.

What was that??! X-(

That, my "friend", is called wit.

COMMANDER! What is this bullcrap?!

I just told you. ;)

Seriously, though. You DO need to think more about your actions. It takes work. I'm still working on it myself. But maybe if you thought things through before posting them, we'd hate you less.

I do.
Except I didn't plan for my Sonic advice to hurt your feelings.

Mandy, you're a treasure chest full of knowledge. :p

Yep. Useless knowledge gleaned from books, randomly browsing Wikipedia, trivia game shows, Trivial Pursuit, and obsessive cartoon watching. Like, I know how many kids were in first class on the Titanic, and how many of them died. (For the record, there were 5, and only one died.) And I can memorize cartoons pretty easily.

However, when it comes to history class...:P

I've looked through all the effects, and I've looked at this one the carefullest. When I was in kindergarten, there was a kid who clapped with one elbow up, and one down. Not only that, but he was really smart. Yet he didn't like ANYONE, and I'm not discluding his parents either. He always wanted everyone to get in trouble. He was sent to the principals office, for what I heard then "Aspargains" apparently, he probably has aspergers. What else would it be? So it may be an excuse, but it's still a problem. I beleive Clan 90.0%, because I can't perfectly trust him. Wait, why am I nice to Clan here, but mean to him over at the BSwiki? Oh....I know. He's worse there.

I read books.
I read wikipedia.
I go on forums(hey, I already know like, 6 words more from this forum)
I also don't know any more reasons.

I still think Cloak is Andrew, and that he and Cassidy tag-team. In Psycho Bonus Stage, I only fight Cloak whenever it is Andrew's turn to be Cloaked Figure.

And what's this "Psycho Bonus Stage" I keep hearing about? I wanna get in on that.

It's a fanfiction based on Bonus Stage. There are 2 versions: My version and Psychosis' version.

And Psychosis' version is the original. Your version is pretty much unauthorized.

Can someone tell me this, how come Clan has never mentioned this before, but now he has made a thread, and says 'don't blame me, I have assburgers' in every other sentence? Seems strange to me.

To all the posters claiming that "Asperger" is just some made up name for a common problem, get a clue. Clan may or may not have it, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a serious (and very real) problem. So for everyone telling him to "think before he posts", take a little of your own advice.

It seems that 9/15 of clans last posts were about asphergers, or in this thread. Yet if you look in any of his old posts, it is 0/15, over and over again. A very dramatic increse.

Stu was nice enough not to say it, but I'm not.

If all you're going to do is say "you don't have that!" or "you're just using it for a crutch", feel free to leave.

Don't worry, I'm not. And I'm not saying tha he's making too big a deal of it either. What I am saying, is that he could survive 6 months without even mentioning it, but suddenly more than half of his posts consist of him talking about it. I'm not saying he shouldn't talk about it, I'm just wondering why now?

That's not what we're saying, or at least not what I'm saying. Everyoen has a different brain that works in different ways. One of the ways that clan's brain works happens to be called aspbergers. If aspbergers wasn't discovered, does that mean it doesn't exist? No.

There's always a cause for every effect. Just because clan's has a name doesn't mean that he's exempt from the things he does. And just because a random guy on the street is simply an idiot doesn't make him not exempt from the things he does. You don't need to know what the cause is to know that there is one.

*BARFLE*

Man! My parents used to make me take pills! They turned me into an obediant zombie! I can't remember a single second of 4th grade thanks to them! I eventually outwitted them by hideing the pills and eventually they forgot about them. And there they are to this day behind the washing machine.

Is it just me or does every single board I frequent have an Asperger's topic lately?

I've been diagnosed since age five or so. Professional diagnosis, etc.

And it's honestly quite difficult to understand if you've never had it. The closest thing, I think, would be social anxiety disorder.

Joke!

Guys, take a chill pill. Everyone quit Clan-bashing. Clan, quit everyone-else-bashing.

Toastpaint.

I have Aspergers, I got over it. I just live, I don't 'blame' anything on it, I am what I freakin' am, everyone else ignores it. That is, if they actually know I have it. I don't flaunt it. Heck, just out of ignoring it I'm relatively socially competent now. You just need to practise a little. Talk. Maybe make some friends. After that, everything about it just feels like a moot point.
