If you understand where most of that comes from, I dont know why you are defending windows. I for one have never used a mac (that wasnt as old as my grandpa,that is) so I am not defending it. I am just saying windows is full of viruses and other crap.

Umm, it was removed a while ago. It was only for bootup errors, which are a lot more rare - but also a lot more fatal, hence the redness. Now it's the same thing, minus the red coloration.

Mac OS X suffers a kernel panic instead (as does anything else unix-like, i.e. linux). However, they're very rare. Heck, BSODs in Windows are fairly rare with XP (since a single application can't bring down the system like in 9x).

Yeah, I'm on XP, and that's happend, like, twice. But when I had 98, I got BSoDs all the time.

kernel panic, eh. makes sense, and i get why i have never heard of it. the more i thnk about it though i miss the little box with the bomb in it on the old LCs and stuff. those were fun.

My family has only one computer and if I had the choice, It'd run on Linux. But for the family's usage Windows is the best choice with being compatible with most everything. I for one and looking forawrd to palying Oblivion on DirectX 10. We'll be gettign Vista for free since my mom's office is getting an unlimited licence.

IMHO, I believe it's going to just look nice. On the inside it's going to be a total mess, and soon the numerous patches and critical security updates start pouring in. Just like with XP...
