My best friend's house is near the intersection of two streets: Whitman and Longfellow. I suppose this doesn't seem too unusual, but you must remember that I Am A Literary Geek. I find the juxtaposition of such an un-orthodox poet and an orthodox one to be funny. (There's also a Poe street nearby. Go figure.)

...That's all I got, really.

I know of a Needmore Road, Spango Fork, and my entire neighborhood is named after states. In fact, the only states that aren't used are Hawaii and Ohio, and we live in Ohio. There's two roads near each other over by my grandma's named Hook and Hoop, and I always get them confused.

I used to live on a Brookview Drive. I never found the referenced brook. The closest I came was the sewer in my friend's backyard and even then she lived on a different street. XD

Some of my sister's friends live on a street called Harms Way.

And while it's not exactly a street name, I was in the car with my mom once and she missed her turn, so she had to turn around in someone's driveway. The lucky house was a mobile home I think with the number "666 ½". The neighbor of the BEAST!

Maybe, "You can almost see the end of it from the road from which you turn onto it?" I dunno. That is a hard one.

But anydangway, I saw a street in Kentucky named Greasey[sic] Creek. I mean, actually spelled that incorrect way of "Greasey" as opposed to "Greasy." On a side note, on my road trip to Kentucky their were several houses waving Confederate battle flags. Are they seriously arguing for slavery? Fortunately, I didn't see any of these flags on Greasey Creek, or else the universe might, like, explode because of all the redneckness harnessed within it.

This more odd than funny, but there's a road just out of town around here called Whalebone Drive. It's named for an actual huge honkin' whale rib that arches over someone's drive to the house. This is even more unusual considering that there isn't an ocean within 200 miles in any direction.

Made even odded by the fact that "whalebone," as in, the stuff used in corsets and stuff, isn't even bone. It's baleen.

Yeah, street names in Tucson suck. Even the clever or good ones aren't very funny.

Moof.
