So? People say "Martin Luther King" and while that TECHNICALLY means Senior, we know they imply "Martin Luther King, Jr." Just because the spelling is wrong doesn't mean we don't know who someone is talking about here--and that's the litmus test for communication. |

Thanks for the spoiler warning, Capt Ido Nos - I couldn't resist coming to this page, even though I've not seen the show yet. So great -everything's fine, nothing is ruined. But everyone seems to be in a good mood about the result - could it be.....?

*sigh* I don't know about American Idol, but Australian Idol decreases in quality every year... It seems people rock up to the auditions because they are decent singers and think they might give it a whirl. The competition should be restricted to singers who want to break into the industry, but for whatever reason, cannot. That way, the winner will not be overwhelmed by the seriousness of the music industry. |

I consider myself (and many others agree) to be a fairly talented singer...however, I don't particularly like the idea of being a soloist in the limelight in front of so many people. I like being a performer in a group--not as a soloist. Plus, my desire to get into the music industry is through my compositions--not through the pop scene. Hence, I never plan to audition for American Idol. (Plus the fact that, while I might be a good singer, I'm not trained enough--I'll miss pitches here and there...[but then again, so did McPhee on "My Destiny"]). |

It depends on your own perspective, I suppose. But I don't see how going into the music biz as a relative n00b would be any more tramatic than is you've been working at it for years. I'd say the tramatic part is if the record company decides to ditch you at some point, and that can happen to anyone. But back to business...... w00t! Good for you America!....... You've finally learned to vote for the right candidate. Joking, joking.
But one thing worries me - namely, the song that Taylor was singing after the results were announced. Usual practice says that that's probably the first single the winning candidate will release. And the song was so bland, and didn't suit Taylor's style at all. It would suit Katherine, maybe, but not Taylor. |

Huh? Australian idol exists? Wow. Anyways, that guy that was mimicing Clay Aiken was jumping in his seat at it. That was fun to watch. |

I believe there should be "neither" option. |

Soul Patrol! Ah, Taylor. The crazy guy with the gray hair. He was the first contestant I noticed. Way back when they were in Hollywood, my mom said "I like this guy", and I agreed. I'm glad he won; he deserved it. He totally destroyed Katherine and Elliot in the semifinals, and easily beat Kat in the finals. Soul Patrol! Anyway, did you guys catch Chris's performance with Live? It was absolutely awesome. He should have won the whole thing.

Uh, why? Taylor and Katherine were the finalists. |

In the interest of not being the jerk that ruins it for people who haven't seen it, when would is be ok for me to make a banner that contains the winner? I know SOMEHOW certain users have sheltered themselves from the results and plan on actually watching the finale. |

The question was "Who is your pick" and the only two candidates were Katherine and Taylor. A "neither" option is not really possible. "I don't care" might have been a good option for those who don't watch, but not "neither". |

(Sorry, I don't mean to keep dragging out a dying thread). But yeah, I say go for it. Anyone who's interested in the show would know who won by now. Neither option, eh? Here's your neither option - don't come into an thread about American Idol if you're not interested in American Idol. There's your neither option.
Meh, no, you're right. I'm no good with writing these polls. |
